Re: "booking out" and SERA requirements
John, I saw this in a flyer newsletter that they send me by email. The wording was as per my second paragraph as I remember, but I dont have the original email now. Given what it says in Rule 17(2) as quoted above, then it would seem there is really no need to write anything, all you need to do is t...

"booking out" and SERA requirements
There was something on this in the Flyer newsletter I got yesterday, mentioning the UK's adoption, but implimentation in 2 years time. One of the changes mentioned was this: • Some modifications to flight planning requirements. For example, the UK expects to keep the existing process of ‘booking out...

Re: Lower Airspace Radar Service (LARS) Review.
I very rarely use LARS, except if Im going to cross the controlled airspace that they also cover. In general Id say I find little use, occasionally they might warn me of conflicting traffic, but most of the time dont and I only ask for Basic service, for which they dont have to, but really basic ser...

G-OLVR Fred on ebay
I think someone, maybe the original builder was looking for this aircraft a year or so ago. Its turned up on ebay for sale, located in South Wales http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRED-Home-built-aeroplane-aircraft-Eric-Clutton-ACTUAL-PLANE-/110956042410?pt=UK_CPV_Aviation_SM&hash=item19d57ed8aa cheers Nigel

Re: LAA AGM
I was just at a VAC visit to the BBMF which was hosted by Stuart Reid. He gave us a very entertaining talk and tour around and is a real enthusiast with a lot of knowledge about flying the aircraft and their history. Well worth going to his talk if you can. unfortunatley I cant make it.

Re: Devon Strut Wings & Wheels 14-15th July
thanks for the efforts made by the Devon strut to put the event on. Not a bad turnout considering waterlogged strips and the general weather. I guess you didnt get many Saturday, but Sunday must have seen a good 60 or 70 visitors. We had a nice flight there and back mostly in sunshine, just a shame ...

Re: Denmark home-built regime information sought
Hi Nick Im not sure if the KZ club regulates homebuilts in Denmark or not, but they might be a good start. Their website is here http://kzclub.dk/ but its all in Danish! I think I read that there is no Danish CAA any more but I guess they must have some sort of organisation at least to administer th...

Re: near Solent mid July - mid August? Solent Airspace A5 in
Irv, thanks for the information. I hadnt realised there was more airspace being grabbed, although I see it is on the Olympic Chart that I got with my Southern half mil. That 2500ft bit over Chilbolton is very easy to miss! I guess there is also information in the article in the latest LAA mag which ...

Re: Calais
I spoke to Lille both ways, answered my calls and were very helpful. Abbeville was good as usual no problems with customs and in and out quickly. Several others did get inspected by customs this weekend I heard, hopefully they didnt get delayed too long.

Re: RSA Blois customs
Hi John, we will be there Thursday evening, then going to Chartres for the night and on to Blois first thing, to avoid the big restricted area for the Bastille Day flypast practice 0800-1030z from Orleans to well west of Angers. AIP sup 094/12. The AIP says 4 hours notice to the airfield operator, w...

RSA Blois customs
I read the RSA site last week which said Customs would be available on the airfield. However when looking at the Notams today, it says there will be no customs at Blois and non schengen aircraft must go somewhere else first. As I reported elsewhere, Abbeville is available for customs and the customs...

Re: Calais
I just spoke to someone from Abbeville Customs. They said we can still use Abbeville to clear customs and it will definitly be open all year at least.
He said all you need to do is file a flightplan, no other advanced information required.
cheers

Re: Swiss EAS rally 2012
I went to Raron last time they had the fly-in there, great scenary, friendly reception at the airfield and we stayed in a small hotel in the nearby town which was ok. Saturday evening went for a meal in a nice restaurant up a nearby mountain. The organisers had two minibusses taking people up, but w...
