Re: I want an RV7a
Neil The place to post all things RV is the RV Sqdn Forum. Go to www.rvuk.co.uk, another excellent site, and click on the "rv sqdn forum" tab in the top row. This tells you how to join. I know several people who have imported, some quickly and easily, some it took up to a year and was difficult beca...

It also depends on the prop if metal (and possibly composite). The LAA will insist that the manufacturer has approved it for use with electronic ignition. A wooden prop is no problem.

Re: Aluminium Priming
Further The thinner sheet components will be Alclad. If you can guarantee not to scratch through this surface at all while building it should protect the base ali. The thicker plate parts and angle material are not Alclad and must be primed according to the manual. Remember, there is nowhere in the ...

Re: Aluminium Priming
There may well be some 50 year unprimed aircraft in good condition, but what about the tens of thousands that have rotted away or needed extensive and/or expensive repair. And the thousands of primed airframes that have corroded. Go with the odds and improve the chances of longevity by priming. If y...

Re: RV10 or Sling4 or BearHawk or ???
Cliff If you tried the RVforum.uk site, it is virtually defunct. I'm surprised you got no reply from the RV Sqn, rvuk.co.uk. You have to be a member, send an email to rvsqn-owner@yahoogroups.com with a few words about why you want to join - eg "thinking of building an RV-10". If you have joined, aga...

Re: NPPL after April 2018
Amidst this uncertainty, AOPA is not supportive of moves to allow PtF homebuilts to be used for hire and reward for flight training. Maybe that's because AOPA is a commercial enterprise supported by commercial enterprises and has always put the concerns of flying schools ahead of private fliers. John

Re: RV-7 Flap switch on control stick
There are many RVs with jet fighter style stick grips with multiple switches, so someone has probably done it.
But why would you? On the panel within easy reach of the throttle is probably best. (Now that's inviting some flack).

Re: CHT Gauge vs DI
Chris I agree with the others, keep the CHT. However, you could have both. If you already have a vacuum system a DI will cost about £450 plus fittings, otherwise an electric one will be £1020 (prices from Mendelssohn). However, for £1110 you could fit a Dynon D2. It will give GPS track, not magnetic...

I found loads of Android apps when typing in tachometer, many are not tachos in the sense that they measure rpm, and those that seem to are accoustic. Which one do you use.
