Well Tim, if I was your Inspector, I'd be looking for a Steel plate in or around the cockpit in plain view. If you had an LAA aluminium one present as well I'd certainly admire it for a moment but I don't think I'd be particularly fussed unless it was fastened to some primary structure or hanging of...

Shouldn't be a problem. Get your Inspector to look at it then submit the paperwork to Engineering as usual. They will authorise the Test flight as the Inspector can't in this case.(over one year since expiry) Carry out the Test and submit the results with the usual Permit Renewal fee. What may hold ...

This is the first time I've seen this problem and my guess is that a lower grade and cheaper material has been used in the manufacture of these springs form the original drawing specs. Impulse coupling fitted to the left mag only and giving no spark whatsoever, so I ...

I know that Chris has retired but perhaps he would repair it for you. Ask the man anyway. A prop isn't something I'd tackle a repair on but maybe there's someone braver than me who would.

If it is coming away at that part of the leading edge I'd guess that the rest of it might not be very secure either. How was it for balance/ tracking etc or has it picked up a chucky stone while you've ...
