Thanks for posting this. You beat me to it. Delighted to see that as of lunchtime Thursday 13th July, over £13,000 has been raised. A big thank you to Zana McKail for starting the campaign - a true sign of how our flyer's community around the world can pull together to help a friend. https://www.jus...

Re: Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Hi Neil Yes. Comment was made to EASA at the appropriate time on the NPA, and we maintain good dialogue with them via various forums and committees. However the matter is now out of EASA's hands and now with the European Parliament and its associated committees. Constitutionally, having passed the c...

Re: Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Thanks Jon, Neil, I deliberately held off responding until we had Jon's summary which makes things clearer, even if it is not necessarily what you as an EASA holder might want to hear. While we can, and do, have proactive input with the CAA on areas such as licensing and medical requirements for the...

Re: Don Peacock VW CONVERSION PLANS

Our archivist, Stuart Macconnacher is away at the moment, but I am sure we have some at LAA HQ. Alternatively, I may have a set in my personal Luton Minor/Taylor Monoplane archive. Drop me an e-mail to [email protected] and I'll see what I can find.

Help Make the Case for the IMC Rating. Closes 19th March

Help us make the case for the continued issue of the IMC rating In 2013 the CAA along with all the aviation associations successfully campaigned for the EASA Aircrew regulation to include provision for IMC ratings on EASA licences until 8 April 2019. As a result the CAA has continued to issue IMC ra...

Re: 8.33 kHz Radio MOD Approval Time Scale

Hi all. In answer to the questions above. 1. We don't necessarily require quite such a comprehensive package of information, certainly for a more simple mod. The MOD-7 form gives you guidance on the supporting documentation required. 2. Yes. The workload for our engineers is high. However, so long a...

Re: Christmas Glad Tidings: 2,800 Aircraft Flying on LAA Per

HI Ian Probably not by the end of 2017, the number of aircraft left to transition from CAA Annex 2 to LAA Permit is now smaller, although we are currently reviewing whether, for example, it is feasible to create extra engineering support to accommodate YAK-52s and similar. Unfortunately the CAA is s...
