LAA Rally entry fees
I am planning on flying into the rally on Saturday, myself and a non LAA member. As I see it, I need to book my arrival slot which is £11.55, I need to pay for my entrance ticket £20.00 and my passenger (non member) needs to have his entry ticket which is £25.00, so £56.55 to visit the rally. Am I c...

Re: Welding on an LAA aircraft
Cheers Brian, I will make some enquiries this afternoon. The welder in question turns out some very high quality TIG work so it would be a shame if he couldnt do my repair just because his codings have lapsed.
Fingers crossed!!

Welding on an LAA aircraft
Obviously, a high standard of welding is required on all aircraft but if an aircraft welder has let his coding(s) lapse, although he has almost definitely not lost his skills, would it be wrong to get him to carry out a repair to an LAA aircraft?
Thanks

Re: Vans RV4 Tail Wheel assy
Alan, I think my tailwheel assy is an early one. Im sure I read somewhere that it was fitted to the RV-3 series. I have attached a link so you can see the set up. The image isn't actually mine but its exactly the same. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=59060 Over the years, the ...

Vans RV4 Tail Wheel assy
I have the older style Tail wheel spring/unit on my RV4 (Nut at the bottom) and want to upgrade to a better design. I see Screaming Eagle and JD Air have units that will do the job. Has anyone got any advice on what to go for/stay clear from etc? Can I get hold of complete units in the UK?
Cheers

Re: Let's call it a succcess, shall we?
Does anyone know if a full list of visiting aircraft to the LAA Rally is likely to be published on the LAA website or do we usually tend to rely on aircraft enthusiasts to put something together sooner or later? It would be nice to know for sure how many aircraft attended, a full listing would be su...

Thanks for your replies gents. I tried to call Conrad but never seem to get further then the young lady who answers the phone :) She told me that there is one 912 out there in excess of 8000 hours! I will endeavour to speak to some Rotax minded guys tomorrow at the airfield. I offered the guy £1000 ...

Rotax 912-UL
Hi I am thinking of buying an aircraft with the Rotax 912UL. It has 850 hours on the clock. Does anyone know if these engines are prone to requiring a top overhaul or similar at circa 800 hrs? I appreciate all engines are different but apparently the RR O-200-A I am told requires a top overhaul at a...

I had an aircraft and the stations for pilot, pax, fuel, and baggage were the same for each of the other aircraft of the same type. Sure, the basic empty weight is going to be slightly different for each individual aircraft but the stations 'aft of datum' would be the same for any given type...maybe no...

Acrosport 2
Does anyone know the entry speeds for loops and aileron rolls in the subject aircraft? I am assuming they are different from the Acrosport 1. A complete list of speeds (if available) would be great. Also, I could do with the stations for c of g calcs if anyone has them, pilot/pax/baggage/fuel. Many ...

Tailwheel differences training
Am I able to carry out my tailwheel differences training on an Acrosport 2 with an instructor current on type if I am a shareholder in the aircraft? As I understand, I am not able to get my own insurance until 10 hours on type has been completed so we would be flying on the instructors insurance as ...
