Re: Sky-Tec Starter Repair

A few weeks on, I will answer my own question. I removed the starter (very easy) and found that the end of the starter shaft had sheared, so the actual gear fell out. The probable original cause was that a tooth was missing from the crankshaft gear cluster, and I am guessing that this messed up the ...

Sky-Tec Starter Repair

I have a problem with my Sky-Tec ST2/S starter; the prop does not turn but just judders with a bad noise. Battery, master solenoid and all connections are OK, so I think it's the starter solenoid but the starter looks like a sealed unit. Does anyone know of someone in the UK who can repair/overhaul ...

Re: BANK FRAUD. The elephant in the room?

I don't think anyone wishes to blame the person who was hoodwinked but there are some glaring details that warrant attention. Committees, including the Fraud and Safety Committee, that didn't meet for three years with no explanation? No apparent checks and balances on the movement of large sums of ...

Desperate Need of Jodel U/C part

I have a lovely Minicab which uses an old-style "teardrop" Jodel D112/117 undercarriage. In fact it is greatly modified to fit the Minicab so I cannot easily fit any other Jodel undercarriage, but the part I need should be the same, provided it is a teardrop, not double pointed. The part is the lowe...

Re: What Wheels are These Please?

The AH part number indicates they are Dunlop, but I can't find those particular ones on the net

Change of Aircraft on-line

Can anyone please tell me if/how I can change the aircraft against my membership number? I have sold my share and bought my own lovely aircraft and I cannot for the life of me see how I tell the LAA about this! I can see My Aircraft Data which shows the old one but I cannot see how to edit this. I h...

Re: SEHT

I've had an SH30-60 for the last year and think it's great (for the price - I paid £209.95). It does what it says - I fly a noisy old Piper and now I can hear ATC! I'm sure the other types like BOSE are great but for the amount of flying I do, I can't justify their cost.

Thanks Brian. Hopefully I was the only one, but I wonder why they didn't reply to my email!

LAA Rally 2019 Booking Deleted

On July 30th, I booked a slot for the LAA Rally for the Friday. Last weekend by chance I found that my slot (confirmed by email) had been deleted (for no known reason) and someone else had "my" time. Happily, I have since rebooked as some nice person freed another slot, but I have a serious point ab...

Post AGM Thought

At the risk of flogging a dead horse, it occurs to me that, post AGM, there remains an outstanding action about the Woodhams Trophy issue. I think that a rule change is required to prevent someone raising exactly the same issue again in the future, and I see nothing in the latest magazine about such...

Re: How Many...???

The 9,000 figure actually appears to be a list of registered users on the website, as opposed to a list of members. Since it lists how many posts each has made, possibly it contains people who have left?
