I used strips of old inner tube under a similar clamp, which held our door stop.

Each time I brought a car or motorbike I went straight out and brought the appropriate Haynes Manual. Still got them all, many with the reg written on them and dates of ownership.

Barry Conway would be the man I would make a bee-line for.

We have the same spats on our PA17 (prob 90 off the same mold) I've left them off for now, partly because of the weight.

The tail plane would - in regular a/c - be at minus 1 degree. The correct place to check is the designer's drawings(and any error correction documents). You should also check wing incidence and thrust lines are as per spec. I doubt John Taylor designed an aircraft that wants to pitch nose up at cru...
