My caution looks justified :( Why has it taken Engineering so long to respond? It looks like I, and many others asked the questions soon after the realease of the magazine request for a prototype builder. Yet they have allowed people to commit themselves. I suspect this forum had kicked them into ac...

Bob, you are refering to Avatars, which is not what Phil asked

To answer your question:
There are a number of ways
1. use a file format that allows compression
2. Increase compression
3. reduce the complexity of the image
4. reduce the pixel count below the max allowed

Basically you need a construction table 12" long, 3" wide and approximately 3" high (to suit your own comfortable working height) with a steel angle to one side of the table. The aircraft is assembled and rigged on this table - just as well I've already made one then :D Thanks, the table will fit, ...

It was the lack of showing as cleared to build that was raising doubts in my mind. Would have been nice if they had bothered to reply to my email

I will have to have a serious think about this now :D

Is there any way to pool resourses if there are several on the go at the same time?

The airfield foots the bill. I idea is to recoupe the landing fee on fuel sales and/or sticky buns etc. :D Also aiming to get repeat visits from those who enjoyed the trip. There is nothing in the world to stop an airfield promoting an LAA event with free landings and promote it through a magazine. ...

Having read the fiting, my money is now on vibration, followed by RFI I wouldn't bother with the warm pad, if the camera is enclosed. Does it shut off if you do a powercheck type run up? if so Ground mount it close to the strut location, and see what happens. FWIW. If I wanted external shots I would...

Ben, can you just clarify the issue?
I assumed that you were experiancing the shutdown problem while handheld in the cabin. Your last post indicates somtething else.

As an experiment you could wrap it in baco foil and earth the foil to the aircrafts earth.

Also what happens is someone holds the camera near but outside the aircraft when you give it some welly (then pick themselves up from down wind :D )
