Interesting to see that Struts are defined as local groups - does that mean that the Youth & Education Strut doesn't exist?

Lots to think about there, Steve. Affiliated might mean a minimum membership (of 50 do I recall?), while Strut (or call it what you want) is 10 LAA members.

I now personally review all applications to join my car club forum, following some unpleasant pictures posted by a porn-merchant. I delete about 20 spam registration attempts a day. There is information on the web for mods to the script to reduce the chances of these 'bots being able to register on ...

Anyone out there got an SBS-1 from Kinetic Avionics? That gives readout from Mode-S. We had a set running on ther YES/PFA stand at Fairford last June and it was showing a Russian helicopter on the site. Not sure why they had the transponder switched on, though. It's quite an intriguing unit, we were...

I've just taken a quick look - but the server is too busy for more than the page I read. Can anyone please tell me what a RAT is, in connection with the APU I think?

Maybe they don't want to link, if that's true, as the YES site at flyers.org.uk is privately owned and run, when I'm not being run off my feet with other time pressures, so hasn't had its revision yet. Welcome aboard anyway - we're happy to have anyone on our side. What are you good at? We've some e...

I have to click log in, but don't have to enter anything otherwise - it doesn't behave quite as my own phpBB site, though, so I guess something isn't quite right.

Well, Graham Newby has responded to a few posts. Until EC members are allowed to use their discretion on what they pass on, there will always be a worry that any particular item is not ready to be promulgated. I think it's regrettable that more of the things under consideration by EC are not given a...

I don't know how to answer that, Bill. I'm just trying to set up some courses for pilots to get some expert help in how to look after their aircraft. Since the CAA isn't even receptive to initial PPL training at non-licensed airfields, I doubt they would extend the maintenance envelope that much, an...

Eyesoar, I think while there was some support for Light Aviation Association for semantic reasons, it just sounds a mouthful.

I'm relieved they chose Light Aviation for the magazine as it isn't just about Light Aircraft, but about people as well.

We have a venue and an engineer agreed in principle, for a permit orientated course. Various details need to be established before we can publicise a date, but I hope we can do that shortly. The course centred on a College which we are hoping will be able to provide a form of certification is awaiti...
