Re: Rotax and Avgas & Super+ Unleaded
Time to bump this back to the top with Malcolm McBride's note in July's LA, p49: "Therefore we can revise our advice to pilots that if they can no longer source ethanol free 95RON fuel but can obtain 97+RON fuel which complies with BS EN228, then it is a legally acceptable alternative. Again, the on...

I used Mike Green at Independent Ignition Supplies but he's retired now and recommends http://www.ribblesdale.co.uk for rewinding and repairs and http://www.magneto-ignition.co.uk for spare parts

Re: Devon Strut Dunkeswell Fly-In 2013
A big thank you to those who came to Dunkeswell but only 46 visiting a/c over the weekend left us scratching our heads. The Devon weather was great but we heard of low cloud and poor vis in other places. If anyone was considering coming to Dunkeswell but didn't, we'd appreciate some feedback. (RSA r...

Re: seat belts for a jodel 112
Mick, in the absence of any other replies, I'll offer that an inertia reel system from a Japanese car (possibly a Nissan) was salvaged from a scrap yard and fitted to a D112 at Watchford Farm about 10 years ago. I'll ask the chap who did it if he remembers the source. You might also get a response f...

Re: 8.33hz radios
Rob, ICOM has already launched its 8.33 KHz versions of the A24 and A6 with or without VOR functions. Other than the old A6, none of these current or new handheld ICOMs are "approved" for use in the air but I'm sure their capability for use in emergency will still be an attraction. http://www.icomuk...

Re: Rotax and Avgas
I believe Murco is the only supplier that has ethanol free unleaded in the south west.
Their map of stations throughout the UK is at http://www.murco.co.uk/serviceStationMap.htm

Re: c90 fuel pump fittings
Still on the subject of C90 mechanical, engine driven fuel pumps, can anyone explain how the pump avoids over-pressurising the outlet flow to the carb when the carb float bowl is full? Does the outlet valve stay open?
