Re: Availability of Mogas, both in UK and France?
I'd appreciate any recent info on Mogas / UL91 availability in UK/France/Belgium/Spain/Portugal The only Mogas list I've found is on UKGA's website: http://goo.gl/2PYJwb which might be out-of-date: Ashcroft Beverley Cambridge Cromer Enstone Ince Kiewit Lelystad Midden Zeeland Northampton Sywell Prio...

Nicopress gauge?
For our Eurofox build, we borrowed a Nicopress from another member, and the metal gauge, returned by recorded delivery has gone missing.
Is there any chance of borrowing the gauge plate from anyone else for a week? I'd reimburse registered, insured postage, of course.
Many thanks.

Re: USB charging in the cockpit
This may be a more practical solution: http://bit.ly/1p7Gj87 and certainly a lot cheaper. We're using 2 in our Eurofox.
It could be argued that utilising a microprocessor adds complexity and weight, and if 24v is needed then Aircraft Spruce offers a 24v to 12v device for a very modest sum (US$20?).

"Pilots' Paradise" in Portugal - an idea
Would anyone be interested in "basing" their aircraft in Leo Sayago's "Pilots' Paradise" at Monte do Lago, near Lisbon (1hr by road) this winter on a shared-cost basis? October - March, say, to avoid the worst of what's on offer weatherwise back in the UK? Help with positioning the a/c, preferably o...

Rotax Alternator / Battery protection
We'd appreciate thoughts/comments on CB protection for alternator/battery on our Rotax 912 ULS (for Eurofox) - it doesn't appear to be a common fit from our initial research.
One build, about a year ahead of us, incorporated 25A CB protection on their panel, for both battery and alternator.

Re: Specialist tools - a query
Thanks for the info, Chris Yes, we need it for control cables, and our inspector agrees with us using the more modest version, and can lend us one. We've got a growing list of suppliers for the more elusive items (torque seal, for instance, isn't exactly over-the-local-ironmonger's counter) - it mig...

Specialist tools - a query
Being totally new to the self-build scene, are items like a decent bench swager and Oetiker pliers something that we beg, steal or borrow, or kit that we buy and after the build we keep tucked away on the top shelf, never to be used again? It hurts to see a top-of-the-range bench swager on US eBay a...

Re: Aircraft insurance during build
We eventually covered our Eurofox kit with a broker (pilot) and underwriters (2 pilots) for overland transit from the factory (Slovakia) to the UK, plus increasing value from arrival to end of build. Flying cover will be confirmed when the group's experience is confirmed, and after we've all had a t...

Re: Group rules - necessity for equal shares?
OK, thanks.
Correction to my comment above, it looks as though we can allocate shares as we choose, and vary the proportion, subject to the min. 5% and the not-more-than-20 rule.

You're right about the navigation, Steve. This looks to be the relevant section (p.212?): Public transport and aerial work – exceptions – jointly owned aircraft 269 (1) A flight is a private flight if the aircraft falls within paragraph (2) and the only valuable consideration given or promised for t...

Re: Group rules - necessity for equal shares?
Thanks, John. We've put together a group agreement and set of rules, which has grown to 7 pages, and hopefully covers the points you've mentioned. Somewhere, in the depths of my unreliable memory, there's a rule about not more than 20 group members, each of whom must 'own' at least 5% of the aircraf...

Group rules - necessity for equal shares?
Could anyone direct me to the rules (LAA? CAA?) for group ownership of permit a/c? Our questions include: 1) Do members of the group need to have equal financial shares? A potential group member may have reduced opportunity to help with the build or flying - and therefore half a 'share' might be fai...
