J.C., Would love to go -- how spare is that spare seat!? Perhaps we can talk at the BB fly-in at Shobdon.

Is there anyone in the LAA hierarchy who can clarify how this is going to be enforced now it is a requirement for permit renewal? This was covered in the (lengthy!) discussion on the old BB: if I recall right, the LAA now has access, via the CAA, to the names of all members of a syndicate (this was...

Rob, A good motor factor may sell individual leads, so you can just buy the long ones you need. (My local one also used to sell the cable by the yard and the fittings to crimp on, so this might be another route to try -- though naturally you'd need to be confident of your crimping. :D)

The MOD abandoned it over twenty years ago.
...And of course there have been no advances in electronics at all in the last two decades... :D

Methinks the CAA's idea of what constitutes Europe is somewhat deficient.

Brian, I agree about complexity, but (a) a sight gauge only tells you there's fuel in that tube; and (b) floats occasionally don't live up to their name and wires can get stuck in sleeves.

How about rigging an ultrasonic tape measure to give the distance to the top of the fuel, easily convertible into volume? No moving parts! I believe you can buy the ultrasonic sensors as separate standalone items (so even smaller and lighter), but you'd need the electronic wherewithal to set this up...

Ivan, Quick question (as you've got the plans): are those flaperons on the wings? (Couldn't make out from the photos what was there, but the line drawing on the website seems to suggest flaperons...)

the flying control system within the fuselage
Could this be "borrowed" from another approved design? Sure, it would still involve a mod fee, but might minimize the recalculations that need to be done.

How about a throat mike -- the kind that strap round the neck and pick up directly from the voicebox? Should cut out the wind noise!

The problem there is that the majority of glider trailers house a glider, generally pretty valuable True, but I reckon most big gliding clubs will have trailers lying around whose occupants have bitten the dust. You could try giving John Giddins a ring -- he's chief instructor at the Hinton Gliding...

Had forgotten Jodel wings were one piece! How about going to your nearest gliding club and trying to borrow a trailer there? You could probably fit the wing in a older-style glider trailer. Not sure whether the fuselage would go in as well...
