Re: C90 / O-200 operating costs

Not putting my neck in the noose, but many engines go to 3000hrs. It needs careful maintence and tlc. Most high houred engines have had numerous top overhauls and even though I didn't say this. More than one have had new bottom ends too.

Re: Ciovid -19 and Permit Revalidation Check Flight

I conducted a permit test flight last Sunday and stated on the form that the mauw couldn't be achieved due to covid 19 restrictions. We did as much as we could to get there, without ballasting the passenger seat. I was concerned about securing weight. I know of one incident which caused severe griev...

Re: C90 / O-200 operating costs

I have a C90 in my 117, as have most pilots. With the standard Evra 28 prop, leaning it to Yorkshire standards gave 17.5 litres an hour on a 20 hour European trip at an average of 90 kts. I now have a coarse prop 68/56 from hercules and Yorkshire leaning gave 18.5 litres an hour on a 15 European tri...

Vale of York Strut. CAA licence validity extensions.

Hi guys, Just caught up with the rules and regulations for extending licence validity to 22 Nov 2020 by Flight and Safety briefings. If we follow everything in the guidance, I won't have finished reading the headers before timing out. Therefore I am going to put together a safety and pilot briefing ...

Re: LAA POST-LOCKDOWN ADVICE FOR AIRCRAFT OWNERS

Really appreciate the work you and the team have been doing on this Steve. It really can't be easy. Good to see AOPA claiming credit for doing it all alone...... AGAIN. I'm proud to be a member of this great association that does so much for a hobby we all enjoy. And yes Chris. My turn to suck up😀

Re: Covid-19 Lockdown

For goodness sake, get a life you people. We aren't the Police. As has been proven on one more than one occasion over the last few days, light aircraft have been proven to be used to support the health service. I certainly know one LAA member who uses his aircraft to fly between his business's. None...

Re: Keeping Current

Not teaching egg sucking Mike. Sorry if you thought that.
Just trying to help others who may be worried about revalidation. If they do it ASAP before any more restrictions are brought in, it could help.

Re: Keeping Current

Mike, if you are into the 2nd year of your validity for an EASA PPL and have done the required 12hrs, etc, even on the second day of the 2nd year, you can revalidate with the one hour instructor flight. That would then give you 2 years 11 months and whatever days validity. Please note the difference...

Re: Vale of York part 2

The venues we have access to are quite small and as we have so many members over the age of 30😂, the decision had to be taken. We are now looking at running the Seminar live on t'internet, if we can work ou...
