Re: LAA amateur built aircraft flying to France post Brexit

The solution may be beyond our reach, but I hope whoever is negotiating on our behalf realises success could depend on making it easier for the DGAC to get approval from the Ministry by seeking modifications that do not mention the UK. Keeping Brexit out of it has to make sense.

Re: LAA amateur built aircraft flying to France post Brexit

The 'arrêté du 8 janvier 2018 relatif au survol du territoire français par certains aéronefs anciens étrangers" covers (a) historic aircraft meeting the following criteria: (i) aircraft whose: — initial design was established before 1 January 1955, and — production has been stopped before 1 January ...

Re: Experimental status in UK

I built one and agree with Clive. It would be very easy to inspect. The original UK SportCruiser importer is an LAA inspector and knows the type inside out.

Re: Experimental status in UK

Those rules refer to homebuilt aircraft. Many of the SportCruisers registered Europe as Experimental were factory built. It makes a difference.

Re: LAA amateur built aircraft flying to France post Brexit

Steve Slater wrote this elsewhere: Permit aircraft permissions are generally governed by ECAC letters of agreement, which are independent of EASA and are signed by the individual heads of the national aviation authorities involved. These enable LAA Permit aircraft, older historic types and amateur-b...

Re: Marc Ingegno brakes

I don't fly a CT, but according to someome on here, the Goldfren 905 brake pads are compatible. http://ctflier.com/topic/3321-marc-ingegno-brake-parts/ You can get them direct from the factory. See page 28 here https://www.goldfren.cz/gf_aircrafts_katalog_2019_a5_web/ or from Aircraft Spruce Europe ...

Re: Bill Woodhams Trophy

The Tiger Moth was a floatplane and did not land on the islands. I hope you didn't miss the smiley.

It is not only the story of that flight which is extraordinary, but his whole life. I thoroughly enjoyed 'The lonely sea and the sky'.

Re: Bill Woodhams Trophy

Sir Francis Chichester famously flew a Gypsy Moth from the UK to Australia and later became the first person to land on Norfolk and Lord Howe islands during the 1930’s. I think you will find he did not land on either of those islands. :) He is another Brit whose aircraft came to grief in Japan duri...

Re: Hungary - Positive update to info in TL2.08

Looks like it is simply a case of someone quoting the wrong exemption and you are good to go, Dave.

The TL 2.08 information on Hungary dates back to June 2008, and since then we have had Recommendation ECAC 35/1.

Re: Hungary - Positive update to info in TL2.08

From that quote, think it is only good news if the aircraft has an EASA Part 21 permit to fly. See the AIP. 3.1.1   Aircraft having non-standard Certificate of Airworthiness Non-standard airworthiness certificate means any certificate or permission different from ICAO or EASA airworthiness certifica...

Re: permit aircraft in Spain and Portugal

Just to add: Spain - You can get a six month permit, but only if the validity of your aircraft permit, medical, licence and insurance policy exceed that period. Otherwise, it will granted until the earliest expiry date on any of those.

Re: permit aircraft in Spain and Portugal

Here is the form for ULM and this is the form for GA without the ULM typo. They call for a Class 2 medical, but a LAPL is acceptable, if appropriate. The email address on the forms is out of date.
