Jodel Spinner Upgrade: Opinions Wanted :D
Hi All, I have a dream regarding upgrading the spinner on my Jodel 120 and as I know nothing about the process, thought I'd raise a post. The current spinner is a little semi-sphere on the inside centre of my Evra prop (so no backplate at present). Although I think it'd look even nicer with a big sp...

Jodel 120 Performance!?
Hi All, I haven't posted here in years, I hope you're all well :) To business, I wonder if you might shed some light on my aircraft performance. I've just bought a very nice Jodel 120 (G-BJYK) with an 0-200 engine and an EVRA prop, but I'm not convinced its performance figures are as good as they sh...

To keep it simple for me I'm sticking to kilos. Whilst most Condors I've seen advertised have had about 200-210kg useful load, I've seen recently refurbed ones with 250kg useful load (like the Devon one on AFORS). So if my public maths is right, that makes ~50kg fuel, and 2x100kg for 2 big blokes. W...

Thanks all, for the chat and offers. Greatly appreciated. It was indeed, the Condor down in Devon (on AFORS) that set alight my imagination re Condors again. That and the recently refurbed Condor I'd seen initially both have ample useful load for 2 big pilots and full fuel. All very interesting, tha...

Condor Comfort?
Hi All, A while back when I was starting a group up, we got a test flight in a Rollason Condor. The short field performance was amazing, and its looks classic. But for the brief time I sat in it, I wasn't sure I was going to find it comfortable for long periods. Things have long moved on and my thou...

Ahh...the 'new' Cromer has a choice of longer runways compared to the old. Upto 615m now if the winds blowing right.

Seaside Recommendations...
Hi All,
I'd like to canvas opinion regarding the best seaside destinations for the novice pilot (and family) to visit.
Skegness and Cromer, I'm aware of. Clacton sounds tricky for the novice. Can anyone add to the list?
Cheers,
WillB.

What was that?!
Hi, I've just seen wat appeared to be a very large single engine bi-plane, with an engine that sounded like a big WW1 replica, fly North over Leicester Forst East (VRP). It was silhouetted, but it seemed very big and loud. I'd be surrised if it was an An-2, as the engine sounded, hhmmm, not very kne...

I'm a bit biased here (as I'm selling it) but there is a Streak Shadow (LAA permit, Group A) on sale on AFORS for a mere £9.9K. Excellent condition, etc. ;) If you're 1-up then 300m to a Shadow is a vast space. Amazing flying experience too. Over 1000fpm and 70+knt cruise, with jet fighter style viz...

Re night flying, I don't think there's any doubt that an engine failure at night is many times more dangerous than during the day. OK, you hope you don't get that engine failure in either case, but if you do get one, its down to blind luck (no pun intended) wether you get a nice flat field, or a lak...
