Re: New SSDR regulation
Can anyone give me some advice? Having read some of the 'proposal' paperwork, am I right in assuming that... "300 kg for a single seat landplane, (or 390 kg for a single seat landplane of which at least 51% was built by an amateur, or non-profit making association of amateurs, for their own purposes...

Re: VW Tools
Hello Ian. No, I haven't done any more on the Fred, but I'm back at work. Anyway, I did give Ron Tickner an old VW head to play with a while ago so that he could see if he could make a jig for cutting the heads. I've meant to get back to him but.... :D I'll give him a call and let you know. PS. If y...

Aldon Amethyst ignition system
I've not had anything to do with this new system but thought it might be of interest to anyone playing with ignition on something like a VW. It seems to be something like the Leburg but programmable through a laptop.

No big 'charge'...just the cost of materials and postage. (unless you have any Austin Seven spares!) :D A few ...

Re: Leburg alternator CB tripping
Could it be overheating the regulator? Might be a good idea to consult the motorbike forums for tech answers since they had a lot of stuff on there when I was wondering why there were so many burnt ones on the shelf in the motorbike scrapyard! http://cbrforum.com/forum/tags/overheating/ http://cbrfo...

Re: VW prop hub
If you've not yet found one, Rob, I might have one on the shelf.
I broke my back last year so it takes a bit of time to get to the garage. In a hurry for it? I could get a neighbour over.

Garage, with house included.
Mods. Please delete/move if deemed inappropriate. The 'For Sale' section isn't quite right for it? I'm selling my house about 1/2 mile west of St Athan. It is ideal for a homebuilder since it has a 35 foot, well insulated garage with doors at both ends, several sheds, electric roller door at ...

Agree that this month was a cracker. Just a thought...is there any chance that access to some of those pics that are not used could be made possible? Surely there are hundreds of cracking shots that get dropped to the floor of the 'cutting room'? In the internet age it ought to be possible to upload...

Whilst looking for bulbs for my 1932 Morris Minor I came upon this site which advertises a 'Pazon' system. Not sure if it is any good as a possible Leburg-esque ignition system for VWs.
Just for info.

I've been asking some Engineers about ground planes. If one has a 1/2 wave (3 foot-ish) aerial then do you need a ground plane under it? If so, does it have to be flat or can it curve down the side of a rounded fuselage? Any ideas? Valcom 760 panel mount. Seems to receive TWR from about 7 miles away...
