Re: Permit renewal, two day turnaround

Permit renewal turnarounds seem to be about 7-10 working days, assuming there are no queries..

Re: Jodel D150 /DR1050 door handle - WANTED

I am fairly sure my Piper PA17 Vag used to have a 2CV door handle fitted (it was originally exported to France from new many years ago). I replaced the handle with a lockable one that you can get from here: https://www.smallfordspares.co.uk/products/y-941205-6-container-outside-door-handle Alternati...

Have you checked the Aircraft Spruce website? They seem to have bits for the 2600 series..

Re: Email from LAA ltd

Gocardless is the 3rd party provider that the LAA uses for Direct Debit payment processing.
I did receive a separate email from the " LAA Ltd" a few days ago, addressed to me personally, advising of the increase in annual membership fee.
Good to be cautious though..

TL 2.08, "Travelling Abroad in a Permit aircraft", (updated May 2022), gives the latest info.

Re: Noise reduction

John,

That is the exhaust system I was referring to.
Designed by Gary Smith - the "GS2000 exhaust silencing system".

I also have a copy of an article published in the July/Aug 2001 of Popular Flying titled "Quiet Aircraft".
Contains some good info on aircraft noise and how to reduce it.

Re: Noise reduction

Probably 10-15 years ago, an LAA member submitted plans for a new exhaust system for small Continental engines.
From memory, I believe the tailpipe mod. resulted in a 3-4 db noise reduction.
Perhaps LAA engineering still has the info?

Re: Glass DGI

HORIS AHRS is very good. I have one.
You also get an AH, DI, ASI, altimeter and G meter.
DI display is GPS derived.

Re: Help with overreading ASI

In my Piper Vagabond I show an IAS that if 5 MPH faster when all windows are closed. Open the pilot's side sliding window one inch and the the IAS reduces...
Almost certain that you have a static issue.
I dont have a static system, so just live with it...
