Maybe its me but I cannot for the life of me see the advantage of an RTF (ready to fly) EASA plane to the ordinary private flyer when you can save money by building it yourself. Lets face it a QB kit is not that hard to do. The only slight advantage may be to sell it to try and sell to training scho...

Rob,

Flycutter was bought from Aircraft Spruce. It came with a spare cutter blade which I have yet to use.
As I said, straightforward operation, no probs ,don't see what the fuss is all about in using one.

Wimps!

I cut 12 instrument holes with a flycutter...easy, and all came out perfectly. Just take your time, measure and re-measure and centre-dot carefully. Cut half way through and then turn the panel over, no problems at all.

I have fitted on my Sportcruiser a Woodcomp SR3000/3blade with the latest version of the Kremen CS controller.
Whilst only at the Permit to Test stage nevertheless the performance both climb and cruise is pretty impressive and I am very happy.

The supplier(TruTrak) has now going to mark the replacement AH, 'Warranty item replaced at no charge to the customer' which they believed would get around the problem. Having once again spoke to HM Customs and Excise this morning they still are adamant that I will have to pay Import Vat and Duty aga...

Returning faulty goods to the USA

Hi, I have just returned a faulty AH back to the USA (bought in March 2008)and the manufacturer has without quibble agreed to replace FOC ,which was the easy bit. The problem arises over import VAT and duty. Having spoken with HM Customs today, they say that if the manufacturer replaces the unit FOC...

Yes thanks Mike, but which model Dymo...The Rhino Pro 5000? or 3000?
Its seems expensive but is this what everyone is using?
Are there alternatives that anyone has had experience of?

Panel switch labeling

Hi,
I am looking to label the switches on a panel. There seem to be a confusing number of various labelmakers around but I am unsure which is the best or what are the alternatives.
I was wondering what method have others have used and what can you recommend/suggest?.

Stealing the thread slightly but does anyone know if a Garmin 496 will tranmit data to a Skyforce Locator?.
I am aware that there is basic location on the 496 but you have to flip pages.

Thanks

There is more to this than initially meets the eye. There has been a power struggle going on for the last couple of years between Chip Erwin who owns 46% of CZAW and Slavia Capital who own about the same amount. Each wants total control. This the 2nd attempt to file a banckruptcy petition against CZ...

Filling Pop type rivets

Hi, I shall shortly be taking delivery of a Sportcruiser kit and I am debating the pro's and con's of filling the pop rivet heads. I would like others views on this is:- Is it good idea to stop water ingress and from a cosmetic viewpoint?...or is it a waste of time? Also what is it recomended to fil...
