Steve Neale, I have tried, some may say too hard (!) to show support for your efforts, which have lead right up to the EC about to nod through the formation of a Web Strut. As a consequence I recently wrote individually to every name who had contributed to this web, because a mere posting asking for...

Brian, Thanks for the response, that's three so far. All unable for good reasons not to be "our leader/leaderinne". You were really mailed as a courtesy, being that well known EC Member and Kent Strutter as well as LAA Mag. Editor, so you would be bang on with the latest state of play [& I wouldn't ...

THE FLYING STRUT - now in formation
Mon Apr 14, 2008 : Unofficial Green light to new strut. by Steve Neale. "I've just exchanged emails with Roger Hopkinson. Roger has given the green light to carry on and set it up unofficially and he will get it ratified at the June EC. Roger mentioned it will be a good opportunity to test the strut...

A cautious support to the request for a seconder.......................... Except I already wrote to the office today:- "Could the EC in advance of the LAA/BMAA amalgamation vote, introduce an economic way of postal or proxy voting. In particular this should ensure a reasonable number of votes & def...

In which case, Pete Diffey, you are prime material to join the LAA Web Strut. And so, of course, is your worthy suggestion just the sort of serious subject the Strut could work on. BUT I doubt you'll do that as most folk get their dander up and spark off then disappear. From the 20 or so who origina...

Steve has reminded all who are [or were] interested enough to persuade him a Web Strut was supported by enough people, to come forth. See the vigorous debate on the LAA Strut link. The posts are being snapped up by power hungry web crazy fiends. Best for more sane folk to step in & save the sitution...

I've already put my head above the parapet and like Steve found no-one out there. He's waited all day hoping to hear from someone and i don't think he meant me ! Where are you ? After all the BB mails flowing in previous months & a vote & he's prepared the ground, even willing to give his time for a...

Well if you wish to take on HMG & fuel tax !!! and use the EAA as a shining example OR threaten Barrister views [Are you one ?] But those sums are surely about a whole new build which is a totally different kettle of fish to the current discussion on pros & cons of annual renewal services. As others...

Thank you -- As a PFA/LAA Inspector you & your colleagues are the salt of the Earth as far as I'm concerned. Without your working within the aegis of the LAA we'd all be earthbound ! It is likely that you do it to give something back to 'flying' through the Association's fellowship. That'll be for a...

Responding with the above hypothetical responses to support non LAA members pockets is fallacious. a) If one group member refuses to join the LAA, I suppose he could ground his a/c, but to spite whom ? One assumes all the others would have a chat to him & put him right, or ask him to leave the group...

Changing the Rules to the detriment of current LAA members is also counterproductive. If outsiders like to use even a part of our product they ought to join & respect how hard won that privilege is ! [I realise it's inconvenient for those who in the past got free access to my Association's services,...

FWIW copied from April 'RansNews' "Radio & 1560 Channels ! (from Sportcruiser forum) ICOM UK confirm that their IC A200 appears NOT to be compatible with offset carrier ground stations after recent tests conducted by the CAA. This would explain why an increasing number of LARS/commercial airport gro...

As a now a rank & file, but long term member with variously - no a/c, Permit a/c, CAA a/c - comment once more from my perspective. Our democratic LAA association exists for the benefit of its members ONLY, which proven arrangement generates capacity to offer them breadth & depth of support whilst ev...
