Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

absolutely no blame attaches to the awards committee I agree there's no blame but I do question their judgement. Clearly they were taken in by the jazz and glitter exuded by Tracey's PR team and, at the time, were led down the same garden path as the rest of the public in believing that she did com...

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

I certainly will not be following the Chairman's thoughts on Motion 2 because, in my view, she didn't deserve the trophy in the first place, let alone be awarded it a second time. Ignoring the lies about solo flight, what did she actually do that was worthy of any sort of acclaim? Let's pretend for ...

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

I have no agenda to subvert the LAA. The object of Stewart Jackson’s motion is to clear my name of allegations gratuitously made against me and the LAA’s name of being vindictive and misogynistic, and move on. Oh that takes the biscuit. You've already attempted to subvert the LAA by claiming to hav...

Re: The Times . 20/09/2018

It's a shame we can't just vote 'No' here and now and save the LAA and its members the postage fee (especially as mine will be coming from Oz). Of course, to be eligible you'd have to be sitting backwards on a chair, with a cat on your head, an ice cream cone sticking out of your ear and a pencil da...

"Start turn, now. Stop turn, now"

I used to quite like doing no compass, no gyro approaches and making the air traffickers work hard :D

Re: Compass erroprs

Just don't stand a tin bucket next to it. Haha, reminds me of the compass deviation card for the standby compass in the work machine. It says something like 'radio receivers on'. The cynic in me then has a big thinks bubble coming out my head, "Hold on, the only time I'm going to look at this is if...

Re: Compass erroprs

Does the King Air have a poor compass system? I'm just trying to see the relevance of not flying in one.

Well, I'll certainly join you in being ousted from the hallowed halls of experience and intelligence  You've probably got a very good point with the Euro-Clowns. There's probably a European Ministry Of Compasses and they'll be doing their normal job of self justification and blocking any attemp...

Re: Compass erroprs

Chris, I am not, for one moment, suggesting that compasses should be required to be removed or their installation banned for those that want them and believe the same as you; that how people equip their machine is their business. All I am saying is that there are plenty of our sources of the same in...

Re: Compass erroprs

Jeez, talk about flogging a dead horse. When did that GPS event happen? How many times? How long did it actually affect you? Why didn't you read the NOTAMS which would have told you about the jamming? What precautions do you take against hurricanes as we had one of those once in the UK as well. You'...

Re: Compass erroprs

I am neither a troll, nor deliberately trying to wind anyone up and where I live at the moment the weather is beautiful for flying, so not the result of a bored mind. If you, Mike, think it is nonsense to remove the instrument then that's fine but I disagree it is a nonsense to discuss the subject. ...

Re: Compass erroprs

Surely having either is okay. If you don't want to have a GPS, EFIS, tablet, smart phone etc then don't; have a compass instead and enjoy the wonders of navigating with it. If you do have any/all of the above, there is no need for a compass. If they manage to navigate in Australia and the USA with O...
