A 100 metre (£39:95 plus postage and VAT) roll might come in handy when I have to fit a Mode S transponder a safe distance away! RG 58 or 58U not suitable for mode S. Frequencies too high. Cable for this installation has higher freq characteristics and is not so tolerant of mechanical stress....

Is the end nigh? For this BB, well maybe it is about time it was. With such annoying and childish criticism being waffled here over the past while, the loosing of the most constructive posters here, endless dribble...... maybe "THE END IS NIGH" would it be a bad thing? As to; (We pay the piper, He ...

The biggest loss as far as I am concerned, to both the LAA and the BMAA was Jeremy Harris. He was particularly helpful on radio and electronic matters among other things, and quite often offered to drop in on members having problems in order to try and resolve them. He put an awful lot of people in...

This BB forum has lost some very important people like Brian Hope & John Brady over the past few days. Many more will follow. These people are the very people who keep a BB such as this alive for God's sake. I hope loosing such people was worth it in the long grass, after all not showing your name i...

CAA Safety evening

Hi all,
can anyone inform me regarding contacting the CAA about running one of the CAA safety evenings. I notice the calendar for Winter 08/Spring 09 is already planned.
Can members of the public/PPL's request a safety evening if we can demonstrate a need and a critical mass willing to attend?

Over the past while this BB has assumed the role of "have a pop at the LAA" ..
maybe this BB being wound up & closed would be no bad thing.

this has blown from a small molehill to a large mountain ... chaps. in the scheme of things this argument is so silly that it isn't even funny any more. While I see that some think that this is a big issue, I really do look at the other chaps position (ie.administrator/moderator) position, make it a...

I don't think it un-reasonable to be asked to add our real name to our posts. I administer the National Microlight Association of Ireland Bulletin Board and a lot of the content is only viewable by verified members of the association, there is a public section, but small. It is not difficult to add ...

**Much clipped** It's fairly obvious that I'm dyed in the wool LAA. Why? because today the LAA allowed me to once again fly my own aeroplane. That is what matters to me. Forget the politics, the moans because something didn't get done as quickly as you wanted it to, the whinging that something cost...

A public BB may be no place to discuss merits of this case. Sufficient to state the fact that if a company stands still long enough it will eventually implode.... whichever implodes first is anyones guess. I also believe that Brian and others probably do the best they can for the association they be...

It would be great to think that a 2009 rally could make a return, alas I believe it to be already too late to get the idea running. Blois in France runs an excellent event each year, is it not possible for the LAA to run something along those lines? Blois is scheduled to run on the last weekend in A...
