EASA licencing... at last.

EASA have issued the rules governing the new licensing system.
Quite a read, over 600 pages, but some stuff to digest.

The pdf file can be downloaded HEREImage

I made mine roughly 6 metres wide, why ? Well 6 metres was the with of 4 passes with the tractor mounted grass topper and because grass at the sides does not grow too high. If it is barley or some other tall crop then the width needs to be large enough to accommodate the wingspan, especially a low w...

Re: Return of the Rally?

My spies tell me we may be having an LAA rally at Sywell next year? This is a full rally, not a regional event. I hope we can pull this off with no financial risk! Rod1 Great, It is one thing that should have never have been sacrificed.... I know, financial argument and such things...... A way of r...

Jon want to "insist" that microlights (them) comply with his list of priorities. To say that you both dislike microlights is the biggest understatement since Noah said "It looks like rain" !! Hi Bill, I can assure you that I am not anti microlight, nowhere in my post did I state that I dislike micr...

(1) Insist that Microlights are PPR by telephone. (2) Insist that they are radio equipped. (3) Insist on a minimum speed for 4 mile finals. (4) Tell them what you expect and insist they adhere to it. If you have a website, direct them to it and have an arrival/departure chart displayed there. See ho...

I think that the fact that you know that an event is happening in the first place is more than a reason to go... don't think that people are narrow minded to make a decision to go/not to go on the basis of a free landing fee??? or are they?? I set up a basic website here in ireland at http://www.Iri...

I also think Fishburn would be an excellent venue. We flew as a group over in November from Ireland, over-nighted in the town of Sedgefield.... really nice place and Beryl, the airfield owner is great. Would also catch some of us Irish Chaps if the weather window behaved itself.

Irish Fly-in's

A list of most of the fly-in events that will be happening in Ireland in 2008 can be found on the website http://www.IrishFlyin.com. Would really like to see lots of UK crews over to visit some of those.

Jon

John,
The old PFA bulletin board is going to be achieved... hopefully a link on the LAA website will appear to allow us to visit back to it....... This has been agreed in principal.... meanwhile click http://www.pfa.org.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi where the old board can still be viewed.

A few remarks regarding the new format

On first viewing the new layout looks fresh and inviting. From my side I see quite a few bugs, then I would as I run the NMAI forum in Ireland !. (1) The first thing I notice is that there is no "HOME" button from the forum page to get you back to the LAA homepage.... so a case of clicking BACK (2) ...
