I have no real criticism of the format of our website and forum. The BMAA website is very active, but has its problems. They seem to be airing their dirty washing in public on a daily basis, despite having instigated a members only area. If I were considering taking up microlighting, I'd possibly be...

I agee John, I don't see how we can accept the restricted zone as it stands. It is a totally arbitrary line drawn on a map that causes numerous problems. There will be choke points and possible resultant safety implications, eg; Getting down the east side is renedered near impossible due to the RZ c...

Brian, I will confess to not knowing the politics of AOPA in relation to the rest of us and neither do I have the picture regarding the GA Alliance. Perhaps my reference to divide and conquer didn't quite come across correctly. I apologise and offer up post operative residual morphine effects (hic) ...

Rod, I assume you're referring to the action being discussed on the Flyer forum at the moment. I reckon that is the only chance of making a differene. If we just politely share our views we will be politely ignored in turn. This is a golden opportunity for everybody to join forces... LAA, BMAA, BGA,...

I have agonised over your very question since I got up this morning and saw the brilliant sunshine and blue skies.
I really don't know the answer.
So, I'm off to Priory Farm to conduct experiments :)
Will report back if I survive the Polar shift.
Has 2012 come early ?

I don't think there is the slightest chance of stopping this nonsense, but maybe there is the possibility of mitigating the effects. If that is to happen, I believe the only way will be to join forces and speak as one LAA/BMAA/AOPA and any other industry groups concerned. Otherwise, divide and conqu...

Has some of this confusion arisen from the removal of the prohibition on permit types overflying congested areas? The 500' rule exemption concerning approach and departure from a licensed aerodrome still stands and is a different matter all together, agree? So, in some cases, de-licensing could caus...

Dave, That all read very nicely until your question about the logic.
I don't actually think there is any ! If there was, empires would crumble.

Seriously though, I'm glad I'm not the only one befuddled by that news.

Maybe it will make more sense when I've shook off this cold bug

The Priory Farm application for controlled airspce will be submitted next week. Seriously though, that document is just an abuse of procedure. It certainly does not address the economies of truth that were uncovered by our Mr Brady. EDIT: Just a thought.... Could this be linked into the original thr...

So, we just cross our fingers and hope that we're not the target  I think Mike raises some very valid points, particularly WRT timescales of consultations. Mind you, I see little validity to this notion of consultation as being some representation of democracy/accountability in the European D...
