Separate Intercom?
We are installing a Trig TY96 8.33 Radio in the A/C to replace a KY97 which is 25Khz The current setup uses a panel mounted intercom (Dave Clark) as an interface between headsets and radio. Has anyone any experience of using the internal intercom in the Trig box as a stand alone system? Any advice g...

Re: Solid or Pneumatic tailwheel
We initially started with a Pneumatic tailwheel on a RV6 but soon changed back to a solid one as it became impossible to keep it inflated. The volume of air it contained was so small that any side force rapidly depleted it and the tyre came off the rim. We rapidly reverted to a solid tyre which we h...

Re: Engine tacho calibration
Tony One possible solution is to remove the Tacho and drive it with a lathe of known rotational speed. Or borrow a stroboscope from the micro light people down the way and try it in situ. That's what we did after doing a check calibration of their strobe using a a calibrated one we borrowed from els...

Re: Tachometer reading erratic
When I said recalibrate I perhaps should have said Check the calibration.
As you say there is no adjustment on the instrument.
As has been said before worth checking all the connections for any corrosion as that will act as a diode and can effect the pulse counting.

Re: Tachometer reading erratic
Donald I had a similar problem on an 0-320 powered RV6. The Westac Tacho started over reading by a non linear quantity varying between 300 and 600rpm. we checked all the connections to no avail. The only solution was a new Tacho from Westac via LAS/Aircraft Spruce a ten minute job to change and re-c...

Test Flights
IN–2016/081
Issued by the CAA today lists people deemed suitable to carry out test flights. Like many CAA publications it is as clear as mud and open to various interpretations. But it quick reading seems to indicate that it may restrict who can do test flights.
Anyone any clearer ideas.

TAG airspace Grab
The following was posted on another site but is worth posting here Colin I was chatting to a few people at Lasham recently and some commented that TAG's recent airspace consultation (see reminder e-mail below) was not even worth replying to! Nothing could be further from the truth. This recent "sub-...

Re: Medical self-declaration
As Far as I can see the CAA web site does not reflect the ANO 2016.
Nor does the NPPL website
I wonder why I am not surprised
