Colin, I recently purchased a pair of wheels from Westfalia for the princely sum of £22 including postage. They come complete with tyres and tubes and whilst steel wheels might on first glance appear too heavy they are easily modified. The centre can be bored out in the lathe and a simple hub with d...

How dull, I'm not spending twenty quid just to look at something. If I go ahead with a Peacock conversion I'd not begrudge the money but I only want them for research purposes.

Peacock VW plans

I am contemplating a VW conversion and would like to study the Peacock plans. Does anyone have the plans in electronic format? Idea is a VW 1600 in a Chilton but it's early days.

Fuselage mounted static ports are OK on pushers and multis. They will give rise to inaccuracy on a conventional tractor machine due to the effect of slipstream.

It's no more stupid than the pratt in a single engined aircraft who spent thirty minutes droning 'round in circles above Bodmin Moor this afternoon. Weather was 8/8ths cloud, ceiling about 100 feet and vis less than 1k. The terrain is very undulating with large tors and a TV mast just to add to the ...

Bostik glue works well. Take the wheel apart, clean the tyre and rim, apply a small coat of Bostik and when nearly dry (like mending a bicycle puncture) fit the tyre and inflate. The tyre should not rotate on the rim but if you need to remove the tyre from the rim again the glue will easily peel awa...

This thread makes the assumption that airspace infringement is purely a result of navigation error. I suggest that the real culprit is poor workload management leading to a loss of situational awareness. Another gizmo won't help one bit; correct management of existing resources will.

Set the compass on the heading you desire and then align the T when aloft, I should imagine trying to taxi and use the compass was pretty hopeless. Most of the Dakotas I used to fly had these compasses, they were accurate, but one still wonders about an UPSIDEDOWN compass?!!
