Re: Wooden Props

I think it goes goes way back in French aviation mythology, and refers to being unlucky during the WW 1
something to do with chance.

Re: evra props c90 a65

That is because the C90 turns at 2475 for continuous cruise and 2625 for 5 minutes, the A65 max 2300
The speeds are actually quite close when matched in flight, just the A65 doesn't drink so much fuel.
I put the Evra prop details on the site about 6 months ago look back in the forum under Evra.

Re: medicals

Not a bad price if he actually does something for it??? Mine charged me £120 just to sign the form for a self declaration after taking 5 years to think about . But it means I am allowed to fly again.

Re: RV 9 import from the States

Seems a bit odd that an engine can fly around the states and even across the Atlantic and yet requires a strip if it is to be safe. This throwback to the D licence is typically British. from when radials ruled the roost.People like me strip and rebuild engines yet need the boss to sign them out as a...

I would like to know why, according to the profile, I have been a member for 6 years and nine month, when I joined the PFA in1969,
I feel a bit of a newbie!

Re: Aircraft Painting

I did my Jodel with a polyurethane finish and wished I hadn't because a little bit of damage mad it VERY difficult to repair the fabric. Straight forward dope finish would have been so easy to repair. Poly might look shiny but it is heavy and does show every little fault in the finishing. Never again.

Get most things from FRESNO Airparts. They are very trustworthy family run business and they now take cards it had to be cash or money order on religious grounds before.
