Any tips on the best way to stop rust during construction? I could oil or paint it, but that will need removing each time I wish to tack on the next cross member, fitting or whatever. I have always run VW's on and have always run them on 20/50 mineral oil which seems the ideal choice of many.

My T31 (now gone ) Had a VW1834 with Leburg and a C150. It didn't miss a beat, was easy to start, and gave as much power as any VW I've ever flown behind. Great combination!

Butyrate tends to be lighter even with many coats, as most of the "dope" evaporates off. With poly, it virtually all sticks, so whilst fewer coats are needed, they are heavier.
