Re: Avmap ULTRA EFIS calibration

Thanks Mike - yes it has the internal re-cal as well as 2 serial NMEA output ports for ADSB or Autopilot. I'm going to have another try tomorow, to see If I can perform it "as per the book", but am pretty sure I followed it the fist time. GPS fix, Wait 5 mins for warm up, flying attitude, then press...

Re: Compass erroprs

If you have magnetic heading from your compass and your track over the ground from your EFIS then you can calculate wind direction and then if you have Pitot derived speed and GPS speed you can get the wind direction too. Some EFIS with magnetometers do this calculation for you and if you have one s...

Avmap ULTRA EFIS calibration

Has anyone else bought the Avmap ULTRA EFIS and managed to calibrate the magnetometer used for the compass display. The set up takes you through the major compass headings and seems to do something at each press of the button but at the end it says Invalid data. Just wondered if it was an issue othe...

Re: ADS B

Thankyou guys - a few things to check, I see that receiver saturation is a likely cause, since when I have my Raspberry pi ADSB receiver in the hangar and the aircraft is 100 metres away, it may be a very strong RF signal. So will wait until a flight and I will get someone on the ground to monitor t...

Re: ADS B

I thought the same, but if I disconnect the data feed from GPS to Txpdr then on FR24 when we track our flight it still shows up Mode S but with TMLAT in the information field. When we plug the GPS back in then we see one of the radar idents (eg EGKA6 or EGLF2) . My understanding of FR24 is that TMLA...

Re: Air Courtage - "LAA insurance"

Re: Oils

I bought a couple of packs of this D100 from Total last year and checked the specs and have substituted it at the last oil change in my Lycoming.

Hasn't fallen out of the sky yet :D

Re: ADS B

May I ask a similar question, but for the FUNKE TRT800 Txpdr as I had a GPS connected for ADSB and have now an AVMAP Utra EFIS with serial NMEA data output connected. Although I can see our aircraft on Flight Radar 24 and it reports a position derived from ADSB (not TMLAT) people with ADSB receivers...

Re: Ignition harness

Hi Ken - I tried a PM but no reply.

Is the harness for a Slick or Bendix Mag and do you have a picture please. Although I dont need one now, I would be happy to pay for one to stock, but the P/N you give is I think a TCM part number for Continental engine Bendix mags.

Lycoming Exhaust flange and Stub WANTED

I am in need of two Exhaust flanges with shortish straight stubs or longer ones I can cut down. Maybe from an old Lycoming 0-320 or 0-360 instalation you might find on a C172 or PA28 or Tri-pacer please. If anyone has and old system, perhaps where the exhaust has failed further on in the system that...

Re: Magnetic personality

Also magnets in some after market covers for Ipads and Androids to close the covers. I did a degaussing in an aircraft last year and surveyed the aircraft first. I found two old Ipad flip covers in the luggage compartment that had magnetised part of the fuselage steel tubing. To check your own, just...

Not only does the ATR8.33 from Funke have programable memories, it also remembers the last 10 frequencies used.

Oshkosh accomodation available

Not sure whether this should be in the For Sale section.... Together with a flying buddy we decided to go to Oshkosh this year. With Hotels being both expensive and full , even with 6 months to go, we have rented a 4 bedroom house in Waupun aprox 25 miles to the south. But as there are only two of u...
