What will be the situation with a transponder upon being asked by 'radar' to press the ident button, whereby a single continuous full power (?) burst of 20 seconds is transmitted? So that alone would be full power for 5% of a 6-minute period.

Same with me.
Tried a few more times, but presumably no-one had left to create space.

Re: Rebuilding Kitfox Mk2 wings
The Optima kit includes cutting down the wings, so it would no longer be a microlight (?). Otherwise, just cutting down the wings (to the outboard end of the flapperon) without the Optima kit would be worthwhile (to handling, but there is little change in speed). Lift strut fairings (at least to the...

Re: Crankcases
As far as I know the ULS crankcases are the same. I wouldn't elect for an earlier crankcase as the later cases were reinforced to mitigate the fretting issue (there's a Rotax SB that tells you what casting numbers to look out for).

Manifold pressure gauge wanted
2.25" normally aspirated gauge (30" to zero, or thereabouts).
Only needed for temporary use, so anything considered.

Re: ST Aviation LCD Screen blank
Ah yes, that infuriating screen. I'm not sure how you test them. Mine goes off when it gets anywhere near warm, then on again in winter. I think in part due to a flakey voltage regulator in the main power supply of the electronics being too weedy (others have replaced these with some success). There...

Re: Europa Owners conversion. Taildragger to Tri-gear
Nigel, Removal of the Swiss gear will be the reverse of installation(!). The installation manual is available on the Europa Club website, or I can send you a copy. Please don't cut the leg out; I'll come and remove for you and pay for it! The fuselage reinforcements won't be removable without risk o...

Listening squawks
So, from 1st May 2018 Birmingham Radar’s frequency has changed from 118.050 to 123.980. This also applies to listening squawks, as shown on NATS' new card at: http://airspacesafety.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/SQUAWKandLARS_1JUN2018_A5.pdf However, NATS' current AIrpsace Aware (Easy VFR) database ...

CAA to EASA licence conversion
To answer my earlier question, CAA has confirmed (by personal email, sent on Bank Holiday Monday!!) that a Self Dec medical is now sufficient to apply for the above, and that a Class 2 (as required by the application forms) is not required. Subject to limitations of use in any onward absence of Clas...

Re: CAA to EASA licence conversion
Or (as I read it) the exemption only applies after the licence has been issued (so long as it was issued before 8th April). So it can't be used in leui of a Class 2 in order to apply for the EASA conversion? In the absence of clarity, please let me know how you get on with your application as soon a...

CAA to EASA licence conversion
Does: http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?appid=11&mode=detail&id=8310 mean that I could now convert my Lifetime CAA PPL licence to EASA without first having to get an EASA Class 2 medical? I'm currently on Self-declaration, which means that hitherto I have not been eligible to convert...
