I will give some thought to how to use a PFcore as I think the range will be better than with a PF portable.

Its very interesting to hear from a PFlarm user .
I would be interested to hear where you mount the various aerials you need with the PFlarm core. I had thought of using a PF portable . I was put off the Core because of the need for external aerials and the need to submit a Mod.

I think it proves that all the traffic avoidance aids are just that and in the end it comes down to a good look out and the Mark 1 eyeball

You are correct that Flarm used to be put in "Stealth mode" for competition flying as it was thought that a competitive advantage could be gained by its use. However new IGC rules mandate it as "ON"

My understanding was that Flarm only alerted for traffic who's vector was going to produce a collision or near collision (just miss) and was not intended to be a PPI "radar"

As a further question in this topic can i ask the following.
I had a night rating on a previous license before the license became time expired can i add that night rating to a NPPL?

I was wondering what had happened to the Claim Form promised by the CAA "before the end of January"

Just to bump this back to the head of the page......
I wonder if there is any update on the process for recovering 20% of the equipage costs. It seems to have gone very quiet of late!
