I have written to the French authorities asking for a blanket exemption for St.Omer.
Don't know if it will do any good, have had receipt acknowledged, lets see what happens.

From the info given , it would seem that you can rule out the mags which would normally mean fuel. Could be a coil/ condenser problem.
Have you still got the old ones?
Have you changed any of the fuel lines lately ? ( the old "flap" gotcha).
What prop have you got and what static rpm?
Was it Ok before you changed the mags?

I would have thought that most jodels ( especially 112 varients) would have been rebuilt by now (and cubs as well) by their owners. You should only get max rpm on a fixed pich prop in a dive. If it goes to max rpm in level flight it will be ineficient in cruise.
I test flew this plane several years ago and was suprised by its performance and lovely handling.
If it still has the same prop as it had then I would leave it alone!
