Re: Removing Old Contact Adhesive from Fabric / Ceconite?
If it's Poly-tack or similar, then MEK is the solvent (and gloves and a respirator!)

Re: Hangarage Immediately Available on a Grass Strip
I'd suggest that the description perfectly describes the strip on the southern edge of Santa Pod raceway.

Re: Export Certificate of Airworthiness
The situation may be different depending whether the aircraft is amateur built or an orphaned factory built aircraft that has been granted a permit to fly. Amateur built aircraft don't have a type certificate data sheet (TCDS), so there is no way that they can obtain an export CofA. There are some p...

Re: Export Certificate of Airworthiness
An export CofA can only be given to an aircraft with a standard CofA. It merely certifies that the aircraft conforms to the type certificate data. I believe homebuilts in Sweden use a system similar to the FAA. I know that many homebuilt aircraft have been imported into Sweden. I would guess it invo...

Re: Compass Repair Kits
The compass fluid is treated as dangerous goods which probably accounts for the high import cost (oddly a compass containing the fluid is OK). The fluid is quite similar to white spirit, which should work OK, but is a bit less viscous. It's a good idea to replace the diaphragm when servicing the com...

I have the Aveo lights on my Carbon Cub as in this video.
Very bright, easy to install, no radio noise. Not cheap, but they work very well.

Re: I want an RV7a
Neil, There are more RVs available on the US market, but there are also more potential buyers seeking them. So you need to act fast if you find the right one, which may mean lining up candidates in a particular geographic area and making your choice from that. Be prepared to walk away if you have re...

I believe they use 1/4 NPT pipe fittings for 3/8 fuel lines if they are the same as the AC6181 pump on the O200.

Re: Limited Company vs Trusteeship for shared aircraft
Ian, There will be a Trustee who will be named on the certificate of registration and the other part owners are notified to the CAA on form CA04. I looked up the entry for G-ENAA and Paul is nominated as trustee. It is a very good idea to have a set of rules agreed by all irrespective of whether you...

Take a look at Oratex 600. You won't be breathing toxic vapours, no painting required so no investment in spraying gear. It's also lighter and fuel resistant.

Re: Wanted Lycoming Parts
Hi, That's the p/n 61247 cover that's common to most parallel valve lycomings from o-235 to o-540. You can get them in black, chrome or stainless new at about $25-30 each. If you're having trouble getting some, let me know and I'll source some in the US and get them hand carried back to the UK after...

Re: Replacing Vacuum Instruments
GRT are very much a US based firm, but they have lots of international customers and handle repairs etc avoiding incorrect tax and duty demands. The unit systems are all configurable, so HPa or inches, knots/MPH/KPH as you desire. I've just returned a failed GPS unit from a 10 year old installation ...

Re: Replacing Vacuum Instruments
Most of the EFIS systems have a magnetometer input that can be calibrated for the aircraft's magnetic fields. An external one can usually be calibrated better than the internal type as it allows you to position it away from ferrous metals and high current wiring. That gives you the option of display...
