Must be a lot of radios that are simply a straight swap though

Re: Yaesu FTA 550 VHF Handheld
I have the 750 and very pleased with it
Cannot see any reason why the the PA200 intercom wouldn't work with the Yaesu, but have not tried it.

Re: Reinforcing Rings for fabric?
In the first photo it looks as if the rings are still there? They are semi-transparent and should be between the prinked discs of fabric and the aircraft fabric. The ones from LAS, AFAIK are from Aircraft Spruce in the US. It is often worth looking there, even if you buy for LAS as the descriptions...

Would appreciate that Tonytnowak wrote:The rings are usually a standard size. I can measure some spare ones I have if that will help.

Re: LAA Permit 2018 8.33 Radio
Don't forget that you will be able to claim 20% refund once the CAA get the claim form sorted.
If you leave it until end of 2017 the 'pot of gold' maybe gone!
The update and release of LA301075 by the CAA, without any consultation, is a joke

Reinforcing Rings for fabric?
Hi I need some reinforcing rings for my aircraft. Have seen you can get them from LAS Aero, but they don't show the size of them. Can I make some from wood and cement them in place? Aircraft is Aeronca Champ with Ceconite fabric covering. Couple of pictures below; http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e...

Re: Lithium ion batteries
I think you are probably more interested in the subset of the mechanical fit of a battery to your aircraft and adding suitable wiring. I'm sure that this would come under the LAA mod scheme as a simple mod for your aircraft as there is unlikely to be a standard mod to copy. I would imagine you woul...

Re: AVGAS WARTER AVIATION
In for a penny, in for a pound......... I have a Champ with an A65-8 that I bought in May. My aircraft is cleared for MoGas. On speaking to a couple of pilot/owners local to me, they said they always use unleaded petrol, but only use Shell V-Power fuel in their small Continental engined aircr...

Re: Which Aircraft
Hi I can't really advise on what to buy, but as an owner of a Aeronca Champ 7AC, can tell you that will NOT be suitable due to AUW. Although you can get thim in your budget. A lot 3-axis microlights will also not be suitable, if you want to fly legally, but again a good few are available in your bud...

Re: Lithium ion batteries
Hi Jim Have you got any updates on this? I am thinking of installing a battery on my Champ, purely to use as an on-board power source for a radio & transponder. Having checked the approved MODS I cannot find one listed for my aircraft type but am sure it has been done before and I do have some info ...
