It is likely the connector is commonly available and in use in non-avionics equipment. If you can figure out the type/manufacturer etc it should be possible to get the crimps from somewhere like Farnell or RS components.
Does the manual indicate the connector type?

Coax cables

For those installing Mode S transponders (or radios) I have found a UK based company that makes up coax cables to your own specification at very reasonable cost. Also, the cables can be ordered on-line using a very simple and intuitive web ordering process (no minimum order charge). A good selection...

Sorry, should have mentioned my aeroplane has no starter or alternator. Battery used for radio and GPS only. One day probably Mode S as well.

NiMh and Li-ion batteries

Does anyone have any practical experience of using these battery packs? Seems they are popular with mountain bike enthuisasts and offer very good capacities at very low weights (when compared with Nicad batteries). For example, a 14V, 6AH Li-ion battery weighs 670g. My 12V, 7AH Yuasa Nicad weighs 2....

Leiafee,

Slightly off thread, but have you tried YAWS for NOTAM access? There is a link to OLIVIA sourced NOTAMs which display perfectly on my PDA (HP IPaq). http://yaws.mobi and then click on EU YAWS / OLIVIA SOURCED NOTAMS etc. Worked really well for me during my recent French trip.

Have just returned from a week's flying holiday to France and, as mentioned previously, you will be made most welcome. Laon is definitely worth a visit though the airfield was deserted when we visited (mid week) a few years ago. Then, as if by magic, at 1401 someone turned up! My French isn't that g...

I purchased some digital scales from that well known retail hire shop (Arg*s) in order to weigh my aircraft. They worked great except the display went blank after approx 30 seconds (power saving feature). I think that would have been a problem as the only way to get the scale display back was to rem...

YAWS on your mobile phone

YAWS now provides NOTAMs sourced from OLIVIA, including the important French low and very low level restricted areas. Some of the French NOTAMs are only available in French but others (e.g. for UK) are in English. Very useful when you are at that remote airfield with no briefing service available. P...

Popham International Microlight Exhibition cancelled

The event is cancelled due to the back field being under water. It's to be rescheduled for 2 & 3 August and will be a combined one of Microlight Trade Fair with the Aero/Autojumble.

I have an Excel spreadsheet for my Vagabond which you can have. However, you need to enter in your own specific fixed data for it to provide meaningful results. What about jacking the tail of your aircraft to the W&B measuring position and weigh the tail using bathroom scales (drain your fuel first)...

Here are my comments (do correct me if I got any of this wrong): 1. Little, if any, progress regarding a LPST. The CAA representative thought, in his opinion, it was unlikely a lower wattage transponder would ever be formally accepted by EASA. 2. Unlikely you will need a mode S transponder for many ...

If I haven't thrown it away I may have one in my box of "Never to be used again aircraft spares"! However, it is unlikely to fix the problem you are experiencing as it is a carbon mic which is inferior to the dynamic mic you have. Weak transmissions are likely to be due to radio/antenna problems. Lo...

Have your tried e-mailing Univair / AC Spruce and asking them if they have any spares for the 3000? Sometimes they can source parts that aren't advertised on their website or are in their catalogue.
