Re: Travel to airfield for self maintenance. Acceptable or not?
Edited in case I was hanging myself. I think one of the things about the lockdown restrictions is the lack of clarity that means that questions like Arthur's have come up all over. 'You can go to work if you have to and cannot work from home' So doing something urgent and important that you pay some...

Britain by Balloon, Channel 5
If you are missing the aerial view of life checkout the program on C5, it's a bit slow, excuse the pun, but it captures the serenity of ballooning as it appears to be in almost real time. Use of the fast forward option gets up to warp factor light aircraft speed. Delightful program. This weeks was t...

Re:Spanish Home build flying in UK
You have probably found out by now if you are moving forward. However I had an aircraft on the Dutch register prior to having it on the UK and a G reg (it was built here, long story). The CAA would only give me 28 days in a year to fly it. That is a total so I split the time into small periods to ge...

'Engineering Homepage'
I've been reading certain LAA engineering documents and some of them refer to the 'Engineering Homepage'
Maybe be me but I can't find it and have to resort to using the search feature to find docs referenced as being accessible there. Does anyone know where it is?

Independent Go Pro flight from 1500 feet
This is slo motion footage as a Go Pro leaves a Tiger Moth and ends up in the sea. It was recovered several weeks later about 5 miles down the coast by a guy walking on the beach. The plane was identified by the chap that found it and he tracked the pilot down and returned it. https://youtu.be/K5RFz...

Well I contacted Aveo on the off chance and what fantastic customer service!
We now have two working strobes again thanks to Paul Whittington, the main man at Aveo UK!
Neat units that don't mess your radio up!

Roserrow + Dunkeswell anyone?
On Monday along with the high pressure my LAA mag arrived with it 'three for free'. Not wanting to miss the weather and an opportunity to save a few bob we jumped our the trusty Jabiru SP G-JBSP and left Norfolk for Cornwall and Devon. Refuelling at Sywell (even better facility now it has the hard r...

Tosh
Further up this string we have Bill suggesting that all the nosewheel collapses are caused by small ailerons on Jabiru's, or is that not what you are saying Bill? Bit of a sweeping statements, you have much experience of the type? The earlier mark Jabiru aircraft has a weak point with the nose leg. ...

I did read of a blade coming off in Australia I think, maybe NZ. Kinda put me off the concept and been happy with a single lump of wood ever since.
