Re: Spin on oil filter
We only have a rock catcher fitted at the moment and, as the engine is on condition, we would like to make sure as little stuff goes through the engine as possible. My first thought is "too late now" if your engine hours are such. However, it may not be a bad investment for that time that you...

Re: Magneto 500hr check/overhaul
It's a good idea, whether mandated or not for LAA types. Bearings corrode, points wear etc etc. I have just overhauled a pair of Eisemann mags of unknown time since last looked at. They were in fair condition, but the impulse spring on one of them was about to let go, and although the bearings were ...

Re: Spin on oil filter
I'm in the process of fitting a firewall-mounted remote oil filter to an 0-200 powered high-wing aircraft. It's a Wolf kit, available from the US. Fairly straightforward, but their instructions are a bit out-of-date and they may have sent a wrong AN fitting. I don't know the price, customer supplied...

Dough sparking plug? Cheap and easy to eliminate. Then move on to other sources if that doesn't fix it.

Re: Fuselage Frame Fabric
I personally prefer Poly-Fiber because it is uses fewer coats than Randolph dope (so is quicker for the spraying coats), is completely inert after drying (so is fire-proof) and is very much more tolerant to humidity than dope. But I use both, according to customer's wishes. The chaps at Henstridge a...

Re: Crankshaft Cad plating
Hi Paul,
I'm confused...does your C85 have a separate prop hub that fits on a tapered crankshaft? Or is it all one-piece (in which case I'm sure it's not cad-plated, but willing to be corrected!)

With your help, Jonathan, these rather large restrictions have been promoted over a wide GA internet audience (notwithstanding the NOTAM that the pilot audience should adhere to anyway). Thanks for your help in so doing. Might one wonder in advance how many GA infringements will actually take place?...
