RV10 Looks awesome .. but as I want to buy a finished project rather than build
There's usually a few for sale in America (try http://www.barnstormers.com), which might be importable, but they're not cheap!

The AN allowed operation on Mogas 97 at temperatures up to 43 deg C ancd 9000 ft altitude!
I've been a car where the outside (shade) temperature was 45 deg C, and then proceeded over an 11,500ft pass (where admittedly it was somewhat cooler): the engine worked fine throughout!

Alan, I've got a Dymo (can't remember exactly which model): happy either to lend it or do the labelling if you get the tape. Drop me a mail if this helps.

Makes you wonder how Vans Aircraft managed to sell over 400 kits into the UK without an agent or anyone in the UK making a Profit. See gasax's post above. As I recall from correspondence on the old BB, the Sonex factory was not at all interested -- to say the least: I think a certain hostility was ...

Well, I have read the BMAA forum on this topic (which is probably as representative of their membership as this one is of ours -- which you may interpret any way you choose), and have seen there levels of curmudgeonliness and paranoia to which we can only aspire!

the vast majority say that the LAA are in the wrong on this issue
J.C. What issue do you mean? Putting merger talks on hold? Believing that the pending legal action is a problem?... What precisely was the question that you straw-polled?

I'm a little perplexed. The statement posted by the LAA says It remains the intention of both Associations to progress merger discussions once this, or any other, legal issues are resolved. The BMAA Chairman is saying that the LAA "has pulled out of merger negotiations", and has "lost the urge to me...

But the BMAA forum is also only speculating on the reason... The truth is out there, and will doubtless be revealed in the fullness of time. (My money is on another reason, but that too would be speculation...)

And I went to the G-VFWE at Keevil the year before. If these guys can get access to such a place, fly in large numbers of aircraft, have trade stands, public throng, etc., why can't we?

In case any of you missed it by coming straight here to the BB, rather than looking at the main site first, AOPA threatened to sue us yesterday: look under "Consultation Updates"! I suspect they were pissing into the legal wind, but I can't help feeling it shows a certain mean-spiritedness. Seems to...

With the usual proviso of taking manufacturers' data with a pinch of NaCl, Zenith quote a load of 285kg for the XL, and say here http://www.zenithair.com/zodiac/xl/cabin-xl.html "The cabin has been designed to fit both large and tall pilots (up to 6'6" in some cases)"
Getting closer, Mishek...?
