Re: Future of the Forum

I checked my profile, and I already had the Notify on Private Messages chosen It might be a good idea to check that your profile has your email address. To check go to User Control Panel>Edit Account Settings>Email Address 2. An e-mail to a recipient is useful when there is a response or update to ...

Re: Future of the Forum

Thanks for all the responses I also think the forum should remain limited to members only use and no pseudonyms. Brian, totally agree but please keep it 'up-market' and apposite. Mike, again, totally agree. John, thanks for the tips. I checked my profile, and I already had the Notify on Private Mess...

Future of the Forum

Can I start a constuctive debate about the future of the LAA Forum ? I am dismayed that it appears not to be used as much as some others out there (Flyer, PPRune etc.), and I think this is mainly down to its design, and lack of User Friendly features. Certainly the content, or what there is of it, i...

Re: Converted Auto Engines for permit aircraft

I have just watched a couple of videos from Oshkosh 2019 from the homebuildhelp website, which brings the question from this thread back to the fore. Has anyone in the UK had experience with installing either Aeromomentum or Viking Engines in their project ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mMBxwFrw...

Re: Glass panel in jabiru j430

Hi Robert, Whilst you still need a compass, ASI and Altimeter as backup instruments, they no longer need to be steam driven (apart from the compass), you can now use electronic instruments suitably independantly powered). You can find details from the LAA here: https://www.lightaircraftassociation.c...

Re: Selling a VOR

I found eBay to be the best place to sell off my old steam instruments, radio, transponder etc. when upgrading my Panel, as even though you list in the UK, it is viewed worldwide. Some bits went to America, Australia etc.

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

The Chairman was not prepared to consider the possibility that his actions and those of the Board before, during and after the AGM might have been anything less than exemplary; he issued the challenge. The statement above brings the integrity of the Chairman and the Board into question. As someone ...

Re: The Importance of Voting at OUR AGM .

I agree with the sentiment behind the change of title to this thread. As someone who is out of the country until after the AGM, and therefore not able to collect the proxy form from the magazine, is there any other way of receiving a copy (i.e. from the LAA website ?), and can it be submitted by ema...

Re: The Times . 20/09/2018

I attended the 2016 AGM, and spoke in favour of the motion to rescind the award. The main gist of my comments were that I objected to the misrepresentation of "solo" so much, without correction, and that the Award in future should be presented to an Individual, not a Corporate PR event. My opinion h...

Re: Aircraft trailers

Andy, I found a suitable Trailer for my Europa on Afors, although they seem few and far between. I guess a lot will depend on the aircraft you wish to transport, and how often you plan to do it. Mine is an open Trailer, with the addition of a framework for carrying the wings and tailplane. It suits ...

Hi Tony, I have sent you a PM, but I am told the PM system doesn't work so well on here ( it is sitting in my outbox), so if you haven't received it, can you please send your email address to rjd(at)bobdawson.plus.com.
