Light Aviation November 2019

In the latest mag (page 6 - News) re the proposed 600kg opt-out etc. Under question 2 it is stated that If these aircrafy are classified as "Microlights" then minimum conversion requrements etc will " mean no need to change existing licence regulations ". Is it not the case that holders of EASA PPL'...

Re: RAeS GA Conference 2019

I have just registered for this conference. Although the LAA have not yet (@ 25/09/2019) confirmed their support, the RAeS will accept registrations from LAA members at the preferential rate.
(If anyone is interested)

RAeS GA Conference 2019

Is the LAA a co-sponsor of the above event this year (so that I can benefit from reduced registration fee)?
Currently the poster for the event only lists BGA.

Re: Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Not sure of the relevance of "daylight hours" and the question wasn't aimed specifically at LAA staff, just anyone with an interest in reducing the cost of aviation who may frequent these forums. However given the glacial pace of rule making in aviation I suppose expecting a response in my lifetime ...

Re: Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Steve, Thank you for taking the time to respond, I am aware of the pressures on LAA staff given the limited financial resources available and I appreciate you taking the time out from your busy schedule to reply. The driving force behind my original question is the need to reduce the cost of flying ...

Re: Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Jon, Thanks for your reply. This appears to be a near carbon (or silicon) copy of your comment on the Flyer Forum on April 16th 2017 therefore I assume that either no progress has been made or no one is following this up. The purpose of my original question above was to find out if anyone, either wi...

Logging Microlight hours on EASA PPL

Does anyone, either within the LAA organisation or individual, know the progress/outcome of Proposed Amendment NPA 2014-29(A) upon which the LAA provided comment in March 2015, regarding the ability to log hours accumulated in 3 axis Microlight aircraft towards the revalidation of an EASA PPL with SE...

"However, for £1110 you could fit a Dynon D2. It will give GPS track, not magnetic heading, but will be more reliable and give a lot more other information (GPS height and groundspeed plus more). It's small and light and can be mounted anywhere." Or for £0.00 you could have the Airspace Avoid App o...
