Cub ..Torque tube connecting control colums

Has anyone had to remove the end float (25-30 thou) in the torque tube which interconects the control colums in a cub? I thought initially that it would be a simple job of shimming between the annular ring on the tube and the forward mounting but of course it is not possible to get the shim on the t...

I think we should use LMT (local mean time) then we wouldn't need watches only compasses to measure the sun's azimuth . But then the sun would need to shine and after this summer.................................

I believe there is a mod to Skymap 2 which cures this problem. Whilst looking at Bendix (skymap) download site I saw a reference to it. Unfortunately it would not let me download it as I was not a dealer.

I think as to the type of bead it's a case of trial and error. or you could try and make a choke (inductance) by wrapping the power lead around a ferrite ring .Try experimenting with the number of turns. This coupled with the capacitor should produce a filter to take out the relevant rf energy

Have you tried passing the power lead to the T&S through some ferrite beads keeping them as close to the case of the instrument as possible?

Mike I note your comments. To say the current system meets the ICAO standard is I believe not enough. I was part of the team which wrote ICAO Annex 18 and it's Technical Instructions. Because of the constraints of ICAO and the UN the document was not deemed fit for use by its principal users the Air...

Mike thank you for your comments I will try and answer them. Yes I have tried the new website and the various options available and none of them are as user friendly as the graphical program that I used to use. I should add that I had a Nav. Licence in addition to a Pilots Licence so I am used to pl...

The AIS web site although the ultimate reference for AIS information could not be called in anyway user friendly and does not meet the needs of those of us who fly from one farm strip to another or just enjoy flying locally in class g airspace. By stopping the third party user who provide a graphica...
