Brian Hi! Early riser this morning! I dont think Graham was sounding down trodden albeit the end result feels that way based on the legislation and rule making made here and from Europe. Something must be different with us that a range of countries, some very small manage to produce great light airc...

Continental A75 Performance

Hi! What sort of Static RPM can I expect from an A75 and what Prop is being used. I cannot get the 2600rpm Max even with fairly Fine Prop. Aircraft performs OK but never goes beyond 2300rpm. Electric Tacho used to double check. I don't want to strip it down as it starts and runs beautifully other th...

Insurance

I have just been quoted £130 3rd Party only to £1M Liability on a Group A LAA Single seat with Traffords. Good communication and I think a good price. Another Quote started at £650 but was re-quoted at £430 on questioning cover. Traffords for me.

How many Robins are likely to need LAA permitting and double the requirement on the LAA? Surely not a thousand or more?

John Hi! Q. I have just completed a sportcruiser with a VP prop. Do I need VP difference training? A. Yes if you have an NPPL (I think) but yes anyway if you haven't flown with that type of power control. Extra checks are needed, and care when selecting flight modes such as take off, climb and cruis...

You might try Tim Dews at Airborne Composites based at Wing Farm Airstrip, near Warminster. 01985 840981. He may have the sliding windows in stock too. You could fly in PPR to talk it through too.

LAA Approval

I'm considering the CX4 as my next build and referred to the LAA Engineering statement regarding type approval on Website. Why is it that the LAA has found technical shortcomings in design after initially trumpeting the opportunity this aircraft could bring to plans based home building. This is an A...

The reason that I and others of us are LAA Members is that is is the Regulatory Authority or Organisation that allows as to build. repair or fly Aircraft is the LAA. That's the premise that directs us towards the LAA. If I operate a direct CAA regulated Aircraft then I might have a passing interest ...

LAA Website Launch

A couple of comments from someone who in the past has been a little aggrieved with PFA but is willing to give LAA a chance so... Rod1s initial comment in this thread was "The PR implications of this are a lot bigger than you might think." referring to Website launch. I'm not sure I can see any big i...
