Re: Bill Woodhams Trophy

Let's be a bit careful. I know some pilots do indeed deserve recognition, but a breath before going again won't go amiss. I'm sure the award can be awarded retrospectively at some stage if deserved. Remember the rush with thingy The old phrase " Can't do right for doing wrong" springs to mind and th...

Re: After the Rally

I agree with everything you said Brian. As for the Pitsford hold, I wish people would stop being professional nitpickers and get on with it. The pilot should be able to conduct the whole process without problems. Any chance of someone having a "word" with those who obviously got it wrong. ie asking ...

Re: After the Rally

I had a good time as usual and really do appreciate the work the sparks and parks do for us. I think the marshallers and gate guardians deserve a vote of thanks too. They all did a great job. The rules were there for the safety of us all and showing a safety card and wristband wasn't onerous at all....

Re: 2020 Rally

My major concern is the self discipline that is required when joining the Pitsford hold. Looking at 2 of the 3 airprox reports from last year, neither of the 4 Aircraft followed the correct track. If only we could communicate that to everyone, I think it help greatly. Unfortunately circuits in the U...

Re: CAA Medical Self Declaration

You should have received a confirmation email from the CAA. Print off the copy they sent you. That's it. It should have a ref number on it. Put it in your license folder and declare your own fitness to fly to yourself everytime you want to aviate.

Re: LAA Patron Prince Michael resignation

If It's not gonna be me, either of them would make decent substitutes Chris.
It would be a coup indeed if one of them threw their hat in the ring.

Re: Jodel short strip capability

I own a D117 and it is a good short strip aircraft. At MAW it easily takes off in 350 metres in any conditions experienced last summer. At the standard 1013.2, 15c and nil wind, I am usually flying in 200-250 metres. I also have a coarse prop. If you are interested in a Jodel, as with all aircraft f...

Be very careful with the Eurofox Microlight.
A great aircraft, but the weight limitation is real issue.

I've tried really hard Mike, but can't find a Eurostar with a tailwheel.
