Does anyone have a surplus adjusting tool for an E2 compass.
Annoyingly, these require a key with a triangular section hole.

1/8" 7x19 Galvanised control cable
I need 70 feet of 1/8" galvanised cable and am aware this is available from LAS and Aircraft Spruce. Shipping costs from the USA are similar to the value of the cable ( & reflected in LAS price, of course ). Does anyone know if there is an acceptable alternative supplier in the UK? Seems pointless t...

1/4"OD malleable steel tube/Bundy tube for bushings
To finish off the fabricated steel turnbuckle parts for my project, I need a short length of 1/4"OD steel brake pipe/tube, to use as bushing material for the cable shackles. The tube is cut into short lengths, inserted into 1/4" holes at the cable end of the fittings and then formed into shape using...

Many thanks, Peter. I have just discovered, to my amazement, that Light Aero at Okehampton ( near where I live ) will, as Agents of Aircraft Spruce, import the required 0.016" stainless for me - along with other bits and pieces I need - at the catalogue cost, plus VAT. (about $45 for the stainless +...

Firewall steel sheet
Could anyone recommend a supplier for a small sheet of suitable steel for my firewall. The plans call for either 0.020 aluminium (& fibrefrax type material, of course), 0.017" Tern (I assume this is similar to galvanised steel) or 0.016" stainless. I have the aluminium sheet (2024T3 etc) and this wa...

Cleveland master cylinders - AN fittings for ports
I have a couple of used pull type Cleveland master cylinders (10-23). The ports are threaded 7/16 - 20 and one cylinder came with a couple of AN833 elbows. At least I think this is what they are. Both master cylinders will be fully serviced before use. I notice there is a black plastic(?) shaped was...

Brazing/ Silver soldering
To finish off the small fabricated turnbuckles for the tailplane section, I need to silver solder(term used in my drawings) about 16 small steel "cushion plates"/washers ( 1/2" x 1/2" x 0.062" 4130N steel) inside the fittings. I would normally have this done by a local approved welder, but wondered ...

I buy my fuel from a local independent filling station in Torquay (can't remember the actual brand) and I use the test tube method at present. The tube is carefully marked with a very fine line and I take some time to agitate the mixture and then leave it to settle before checking for any displaceme...
