Re: Liability

Provided you had adequate Public Liability policy cover from a reputable insurer to cover the legal defence costs of any claim there shouldn't be too much to fear..unless you were negligent of course - and that has to be proven (and defended against). The cover could be quite expensive though, under...

Re: Replica Plans SE5a

Interestingly my 'Skybolt' search led me to another potential build thread - the SE5A... Liability scares have shot down more aircraft than flak - certainly as far as designers or 'plans sellers' are concerned. I'm beginning to get the impression that there is a conspiracy to stop people building an...

Re: 'Airdrome Aeroplanes' (USA)

Many thanks for the comprehensive reply. Part of the 'rite of passage' for new builders is getting to grips with, and understanding, the varying regulations (and on-going changes to those regulations) applying to designs or kits that one may wish to build, it is of course harder if you don't want to...

Re: 'Airdrome Aeroplanes' (USA)

Hi Ian, thanks for your comment - I guess I was just bewildered that in the 21st C there wasn't some form of internationally recognised standard that we could all build to, that was acceptable to the safety agencies of all countries. 'Acceptable Standards' being the key. I guess I'll build an Evans ...

Re: 'Airdrome Aeroplanes' (USA)

Thank you for your reply. I do recall looking into Grass Strip Aviation's products several years ago, but was disappointed that they only had two 3/4 scale aircraft on the books, neither of which appealed. If I recall I think I gave up my search then for the ideal 'home built' aircraft (if there is ...

'Airdrome Aeroplanes' (USA)

Forgive me if someone has already raised this, (I could not locate any topic in the search section on any part of the forums), but as a prospective builder I wondered if anyone in the UK has obtained a kit through 'Airdrome Aeroplanes' or if the LAA have 'authorised' any of their kits? I know that t...

There was hardly any litter airside, just the odd escapee. The rubbish bins near the vending points were overflowing toward the end.

As exhibitors cleared the field odd pieces of paper/plastic film also made a break for it, to be caught in the fencing - as designed.

I have seen worse.

Due to work and family commitments could not get there until midday Sunday, by m/cycle. There were a few interesting a/c still there but obviously much thinned out as people headed home. Went airside to take a look at a few a/c that I never found the time / space / money to build. Always amused by t...

That's a good idea - I haven't used the site very much in the past, other than simply heading for Engineering - without logging in - I was looking for something more specific this time and presumed there was a separate box ...
