Re: Dipole antenna - positioning in fuselage
Excuse the thread drift but can anyone recommend a source of copper strip suitable for using as a bus bar in connecting circuit breakers?

Devon Strut - Project Pegasus Fly-In, Dunkeswell, Sun 30th M
The Devon Strut will be holding a ‘Safety and Security Fly-in’ at Dunkeswell on Sunday 30th March, in collaboration with Devon & Cornwall Police and Devon & Somerset Flight Training. The aim of this event is to provide a platform to raise the profile of ‘Project Pegasus’ and promote flight safety at...

Re: Rotax and Avgas
To back up what Brian said, in over 30 years of testing and using forecourt mogas in my a/c, I've never detected water, bugs or been aware of any other form of contamination. However, I have replaced old jerry cans when the red oxide lining has started to appear in my Mr Funnel filter. To update the...

Re: Windscreen material
I wish I'd asked the same question before I replaced my D117 panels last year! I used 3mm polycarbonate for the screen and 2mm acrylic for the doors. I have to be very careful when refueling my front tank. Phil, how does the strength and crack resistance of PETG compare with polycarb?

Re: If Carling designed an LAA aircraft?
I also disagree that a single curvature panel(or windscreen) would be more expensive that a flat panel. It is moulding we need to avoid if possible (or learn how to DIY) I agree. I replaced my cracked moulded acrylic screen with 3mm flat Lexan for £48. http://tinyurl.com/kvprlqm http://tinyurl.com/...

Devon Strut Meeting - Thursday 12th December
The next Devon Strut meeting is coming up this evening when Moorland Guide John Lowe will be our guest speaker. “In the late evening of 21st March 1941, a returning RAF Hampden of Bomber Command crashed onto Dartmoor, in an area known as Hameldown. None of the young crew survived. On that wind swept...

Re: Devon Strut Fly in's
The question has been raised as to why the Devon Strut is not running many fly-ins. Part of the answer has already been provided in Brian’s response regarding insurance. I think it fair to say that we all want the same thing when it comes to quality fly-in venues and to be able to enjoy the camarade...

Re: Google Nexus 7 mounting
Rob, I'm using this http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/igrip-t5-3764-universal-tablet-car-holder-p36071.htm#compatibility for my Nexus 7 but the suction mount part is too long for my Jodel panel (brings it too close to my face) so I'm making up a U bracket from 2.5mm commercial ali to attach the universal j...

Re: Temp TMZ (A,C,S) Starts 16/9/13 Exeter area
After a useful and informative meeting with the Exeter SATCO, David Burrows, I posted a few additional notes of clarification on how the TMZ is intended to operate from a GA perspective. The consequences for gliding operations at North Hill, just west of Dunkeswell and for hang gliding and paraglidi...

Devon Strut Belle Vue Fly-In Cancelled
The Devon Strut fly-in at Belle Vue which has been listed in some of the event calendars for Saturday 14th September, has now been cancelled. It was re-arranged and held last weekend and the strip owner doesn't want large numbers of a/c turning up with their pilots expecting another bbq!
