Wanted cable tensionmeter.

Just missed an excellent old control cable tensionmeter on e-bay.
Does anyone have one of these for sale? If so please let me know.

New French National Licence for Aircraft Maintenance. (LNMA)

I own a French registered EASA certified Robin ATL. For the last ten years under French regulations I have carried out all the maintenance, including annuals, ADs, SBs, etc, using my manufacturers type-specific approved maintenance programme. The main expense was to fly the GSAC surveyor over from L...

If the Aware unit is as good as it seems to be (judging by the favourable feedback so far) then in my opinion we should all fly with one. At £150 price it's got to be the most cost effective bit of kit for extra safety, and Airbox/NATS should be officially congratulated.

Thats it, I am convinced, now my family know what to buy for my birthday! :D
Only one other item on my wish list.. a stand-alone digital compass that never lies, especially in turbulence. I saw one on a yacht but it was a bit big for an aircraft.

Nats Aware - GPS Airspace Warning unit.

In the latest Jan mag (for which many thanx, another splendid issue) John Brady reports on the Nats Aware GPS airspace warning unit. This seems almost too good to be true, providing an astonishing range of features at a very low price. It is only my natural cynicism that stops me rushing to buy one ...

Hello John
They are trying it on again! Presumably they have completely ignored the responses to their first attempt.
This needs a concerted response from LAA, CAA, AOPA, NATS, and all of us. Will wait for your lead before firing both barrels at the ***!!! ... :!:

Since sounding off in my opening post the situation doesn't seem quite so bad. There are ways to minimise the effects of this tidal wave of bureaucracy. Here in West Wales a local engineer has been working his butt off to establish a sub part G & I organisation. He has had to endure countless invest...

Thanks Brian... The French have just changed to part M (since 28th Sept 09) so there may be some 'creative interpretation' of the rules there, which I will watch with interest. Their grant of restricted part 66 licences to competent owners under grandfather rights for instance. Otherwise I could tak...

Part M has done for me!

Well its finally happened. EASA part M has done for me! Using the old French rules (which were abolished on 28 Sept 2009) I managed to do all the maintenance on my French registered Robin ATL for more than ten years. Now my engineering qualifications and experience are as nothing, and I am permitted...

Hope someone from the LAA bought it, give some feed back on how you get on?

Interesting to compare with the similar looking Gemini diesel.

Same 100 HP but the Gemini is more than 20 kgs lighter, has three cylinders, and common rail fuel injection.

My Robin ATL has an MT prop. A new AD requires prop tape to be fitted to ensure security of the metal armoured leading edges. However a few years ago I had carefully rubbed down and painted the prop leading edges. So the prop tape was mainly stuck to the new paint. No matter how sticky the tape adhe...

Yes indeed. When the weather is really clear I like to fly high over the Preceli hills, doing gentle circles in the uncontrolled air, and enjoying the fabulous view. All seems well in the World for a while, but then comes descent and back to a reality that increasingly worries me. This is a forum fo...

Ah yes the price is indeed the main point. I was comparing the Gemini against the price of a new Limbach which is similar to a new 912. Sorry to butt in, will go and eat worms in the garden

Have a look at the Maurice Kirk thread on PPRUNE. MK is a bit of an odd ball to say the least, and he is definitely anti authority. But putting him on a trumped up charge, and then sectioning him for forced examination by a load of government shrinks, is appalling.
