Re: Claim re contribution towards the cost of 8.33 kHz radio

Just checked my bank account and, as promised, my payment is there.

In my case, it's not a life changing amount but at least it's enough to pay my permit renewal fee! :D

Re: Claim re contribution towards the cost of 8.33 kHz radio

Not sure if it was the 3rd tranche but I sent my original claim in on 16th September 2018.

Re: Cliam re contribution towards the cost of 8.33 kHz radio

I received an email last week to say "The CAA will make rebate payment in December by BACS transfer into your nominated account."

Not long to wait now.

Re: 'My Aircraft' in profile

I think the answer to your question, Paul, is that you cannot change it. The office will update their database when the aircraft is registered in the new owners name. P.S. It looks and sounds very nice. The delivery pilot did a low pass and go around at our strip on the way to the new owners strip.

Re: ALL MEMBERS ! Please fill out those proxy forms..!!

What is more to the point though is this ; Did the person mentioned above have an 'input' in the award going to her in the first place ? Chris, if there was an award for inventing conspiracy theories you would win by a mile. I am appalled at the slur on the good name of Harry Hopkins and his team i...

Re: The Times . 20/09/2018

yielding to what seem to be powerful external pressures to make us do it all over again I really don't think that's the case, Mike. Any member can put forward a motion for discussion at the AGM whether the LAA Board approve of it or not. I think that in this case they would rather this subject had ...

The Association doesn't have any choice. Any member is entitled to put forward a proposition for discussion at the AGM providing they do so in accordance with the rules.

Re: Flying Flea

I have never seen that before - many thanks Steve for posting it. What a wonderful short film of the (very) young looking Bill. He is still very keen on the Flying Flea and willing to talk at length about them. He has one (or more) still in his hangars.

Re: Prop Removal

TL205 sets out what can be done by an owner and I don't see prop removal or replacement on that list. In that case the work will have to be approved by an Inspector (not an Instructor unless he is also an LAA Inspector).

Re: Jodel short strip capability

Sorry but I can't give you any ideas on how a Jodel D150 would operate from 400m but I operated a D120 from a 380m strip for many years along with two D117s and two up was no problem. You have to be careful with how much weight you carry and be extremely accurate with your speed over the hedge when ...

Re: Set up Issues ?? with new ICOM IC-A220 Radio Issues

I too have just installed the Icom IC-A220 but mine was a completely new install so not an upgrade like yours. I was told some years ago that the King 97 was in fact an Icom IC-A200 but with a different front panel - if so the 220 with the MBA-3 should be a straight replacement. I am by no means an ...

Re: Pilot Coaching Scheme.

That's an interesting question, Martin. My first reaction was that of course it would be possible but looking at the application form I see that you are required to tick a box confirming that the aeroplane is on an LAA permit, so perhaps not.
