Re: That ORS4.......????

John, I am assured the replacement ORS4 exemption is on it's way. I do have a copy of the unpublished signed exemption from the CAA so can confirm that it is active for PPL holders with a SEP rating and a Medical Declaration. If you hold a SSEA rating rather than a SEP rating, then you do not requir...

Re: start again?

I have been advised I need to do the complete NPPL course from scratch if my currency is out over ten years to revalidate my PPL. OR can I do a flight test with an examiner? It depends how long your SEP rating is expired. If its expired by less than 5 years, it's just a General Skill Test. If its e...

Re: EASA FAQs

Can I use a LAPL medical with a UK PPL?

No, a LAPL medical may not be used to support a UK PPL. There is no exemption which allows you to use this combination of licence/medical.

However, a LAPL medical may be used with a LAPL licence and NPPL licence.

EASA FAQs

I'm going to post a few of the questions I receive to assist other LAA members who may have a similar enquiry. Can a LAA coach complete refresher training required for a LAPL? The recency requirements for the LAPL are on a rolling Revalidation basis. See CAP 804 Section 4 Part B Subpart 1: FCL.140.A...

Re: Kitfox ferry flight

- Training has to be within an ATO or RTO. So, it's possible that ATO/RTO might not accept hours that a freelance instructor flew with you on a ferry trip. On the other hand, they might and the only sensible thing to do is ask them. Guy, An ATO should not certify hours flown by a freelance instruct...

Re: Kitfox ferry flight

Hello all, I am new to this forum as I have just recently purchased a Kitfox (group A). The Kitfox is currently located near Canterbury and I am wondering could anybody help steer me in the right direction as to where I could get someone who could fly it to northern Ireland. I am a commercial helic...

Re: Language Proficency at the LAA Rally and The Flying Show

On Saturday, John Brady is no longer able to attend the LAA Rally. I have arranged for Stuart Robottom-Scott to be in attendance to sign SRG1199s (Language Proficiency) between 1300 and 1500 local. Stuart can sign your Language Proficiency and certify documents for your EASA applications (documents ...

Language Proficency at the LAA Rally and The Flying Show

A gentle reminder that the LAA Pilot Coaching Scheme will be present at the LAA Rally (30th August to 01st September 2013) and The Flying Show (30th November - 01st December 2013). At the LAA Rally on Friday, LAA Coaches David Murcott and Barry O'Neill will be present to answer questions about pilot...

LAA Rally - BRING-A-BUDDY

Hi all, I wondered if you might all be interested in promoting 'BRING-A-BUDDY' to the LAA Rally? Here's the idea: it costs a tenner to enter the LAA Rally if you fly-in regardless of the number of occupants in the aircraft - so if there are qualified pilots or student pilots who would love to fly in...
