Re: AVGAS WARTER AVIATION

Many Thanks Brian. Running our aircraft on Mogas with 5% Ethanol would make life a whole lot easier. For me to uplift Avgas is a 30 minute flight and I only have a 12 gallon tank so to make the flight more practical I would have to carry cans inside the aircraft which I am never happy about. AVGAS WARTER AVIATION

We down here in the West Country have all but lost all availability of Mogas without any Ethanol. It is now not possible to buy Mogas West of Exeter which does not contain at least 5% Ethanol. Trying to stay street legal and fuel the aircraft on Avgas means at least a 35 minute flight to uplift fuel...

Re: MODE S AND 8.33 RADIO

Chris Many Thanks for your response.
With regard to pilots having a hard time at border control this may well be connected to the increased level of security following recent terrorist attacks on mainland Europe.

Re: MODE S AND 8.33 RADIO

Hello Brian, The 8.33 debate lumbers on as 2017 creeps closer. Might it be possible to publish an update article in the LAA Magazine regarding 8.33 in particular now we are departing from EASA Control. May it also be possible to formulate an article on the horror stories that GA pilots are being vic...

Re: MODE S AND 8.33 RADIO

Thanks for your input Brian, might it be possible to publish a fresh article in the LAA Magazine when you consider it a good moment. I have read the article in the 2013 LAA Magazine and maybe we could see some fresh input as its going to become a hot potato soon. At some point a Renewal Permit will ...

Re: MODE S AND 8.33 RADIO

Thanks Ian,
Maybe the interesting question is WHO finds the spacing insufficient and WHY is GA put to all this grief and expense!!
Many of us could manage quite happily without talking to ATC on an expensive new radio !!

MODE S AND 8.33 RADIO

We have been looking around to see who uses the 8.33 spacing, so far none found. Question 1 Why have we to spend vast amounts of money on new radio equipment. What happened to Mode S after all the initial trumpets. Question 2 Why do we all have to spend more vast amounts of money on Mode S Transpond...

Re: Licences and medicals

Is there an indication that by April 2016 the Class 2 Medical for a PPL A will be abolished and we continue to fly on self declaration or DVLA driving license conditions.
