Hi Will, I think one subject that should be highlighted is that of Wake Turbulence, especially on these calmer summer evenings in the circuit, and not just from the prop. I recently experienced the turbulence a landing aircraft can create if you are positioned too close on short finals, especially i...

Thanks David, I did get a quote for a Newton prop, i just wanted to see one first. Chris Lodge is no longer producing props but if i could choose it would probably be either a Lodge, RWG or Evra.

Ken Fern Props

I currently have a Ken Fern 54"x32" on my Turbulent coupled to a 1600 VW. At 3100 rpm on the climb out she appears to lack speed and climb compared to the other Turbs based with mine (6 of them) which run with a selection of R W Greenwood and Evra props, but clearly she does not lack power. The take...

Hi Bob, I flew the Tiger this evening (G-ANJA), i must say quite tiring too. We did a lot of spinning, my check pilot, whos a very experienced Tiger pilot believes that its important to be aware of why the aircraft enters a spin as well as recovering from it. Good fun but bloody hard work for your f...

Well Bob, our Colt isnt actually mine but im about the only person who fly's it. Its G-ARKP, she had a complete rebuild about five years ago and runs sweet as a nut. Yes you are correct, no flaps, 70kts all the way in on approach, anything less and youl be parked in the field short of the runway. Ot...

Yes Bob, you have us all chatting now.
I fly a nice Piper Colt which is on a C of A, so why can you go out and buy a Piper Vagabond (which really is only a Colt with a smaller engine and a Tailwheel) on a Permit??? They are both factory built aircraft so what is the difference?
